If you take out Dillon and replace him with another young, cost controlled asset or 2nd rounder I think this is definitely close to fair. I realize you have to balance the numbers coming back...what about Wingles? That would be a little easier to swallow. Especially if we retain on Tatar...

Sure - Wingels is a UFA at the end of the year though, but the Sharks shouldn't even give the slightest of pauses towards including him in the deal if that's what the Wings stress.

In that case, Golodbin + Roy + Wingels for Tatar? It'd probably be too much going the other way for the Sharks, even with the mindset of understanding the need to go all-in this year and perhaps jeopardizing some future success.

Wingels is a perfect option for us if you need to balance the numbers because his contract is up after this year. I'm not too familiar with SJ prospects but Golobin and Roy both look like B/B+ level guys. So that would definitely be close. Maybe you could tell me more about them? This would definitely be a solid start at negotiations if we do decide to sell this year (still up in the air)....

Sure. I'd say both Goldy and Roy round out SJ's trio of Grade-A prospects along with Meier.

Goldobin's the Sharks' best goal-scoring prospect. Our "Russian Sniper", 2014 1st Round Pick. Currently doing very well with the SJ Barracuda (Sharks' AHL team): http://www.fearthefin.com/2016/8/10/12415714/top-25-sharks-under-25-no-5-nikolay-goldobin

Jeremy Roy's the Sharks' best defensive prospect. He was projected to go in the 1st round but when the 2nd round was about to start and he was still available, SJ wisely traded up to draft him: http://www.fearthefin.com/2016/8/8/12399388/top-25-san-jose-sharks-under-25-no-7-jeremy-roy

Yeah I would say that is a package that gets a long hard look from management. Maybe hold out for a mid round pick for icing on the cake but two A/B+ prospects is definitely a good start for Tatar. He's got 20-25 goals/year in him plus he's still somewhat cost controlled because he's an RFA after this year.
