Description
It's extraordinarily unlikely. I don't expect it to happen; I'm pretty sure we'll end up rebuilding. But most of it is at least quasi-plausible, and it'd make for a nice reverse on all the hell stories lately.

The Jones trade is based on a suggestion I saw elsewhere, and is probably the most outlandish part of the thing - well, apart from the UFA signings, but those are kind of the whole point.

Colorado is a very Analytical team. Seth Jones is not very good analytics wise. Plus they don’t need him. They would rather keep future assets

Fair enough. There's other places he could be traded; I was just kind of picking the last thing I'd seen elsewhere. The real focus is the whole quick-reload-through-UFA bit, which is admittedly usually a pipe dream but I tried to acknowledge as much upfront. smile

Eh he's quite good analytically (3.2 corsi rel % this past season) I'd say it's more than analytics contradict claims that he's elite but maybe splitting hairs here

Doubtful Colorado can even afford Seth Jones long term, Sakic has to resign Cale Makar and Gabe Landeskog this year and Nate MacKinnon in 2 years all are going to cost big bucks.

Would be sad if they exposed RFA Stenlund instead of mediocre UFA Jenner as Kevin is a fairly nifty asset but I guess that's the way things go in this league

Wow I drive past Jenner's hometown every week

    Small world huh

But would you give up all this for a guy who’s not elite

As an Oilers fan, I'm warning you to not go for Turris no matter what. He was bad in Nashville and even worse in Edmonton. Hes an AHL level player who was completely invisible whenever he actually got into the lineup.

Definitely not when you already have arguably the deepest defense in the league. Trade is a massive fail.

I saw him in Nashville (the Preds are my #2 team), so I'm well aware. The idea was a partial cap offset; while I have him as a scratch on this roster, realistically he'd be more likely sent to Cleveland.

No thanks, Jones is overrated imo. Plus he said he wanted to test free agency so if anything it will probably be a rental situation rather than a sign and trade

Easy decline for the Avs. No need for him nor can they afford him.
