I'd do the Blues trade, Canucks decline the rest. Seattle also isn't taking Roussel

you might be surprised on the roussel angle...

Tampa maybe farfetched but helps both teams

Boston should happen 100% Lauzon is a beast RHD this team needs in its core, Debrusk helps offset Millers lost, is young and still useful

Lauzon is a LD and Boston will likely make a trade with Seattle so they don’t take him. X draft is loaded with D, they won’t miss him.

Canucks should definitely explore a trade for only Lauzon (maybe 3rd+prospect or 2nd) because Miller is an important asset to the team.

Tampa needs to add more to get rid of Johnson and get Motte back. Needs to be at least a 1st and they can have someone like MacEwan in return but joy Motte.

Lauzon is left handed but ya he can play either side.

Frees up 9mil in cap space? No it only frees up 4.5 ish. Swapping Ferland for Johnson doesn't make both of them go away.

I do. And if not they take Lauzon 🤷🏻‍♂️. Trade him away they take Clifton and we have lost 1/3 of the D because of the expansion draft. Piss poor asset management.

Miller is an aging 28 year old soon to UFA that should not be re-signed and should be a core piece and that important to this team.
By the time this team competes for the Cup, Miller will be useless, this management team is known to wait too long and trade assets after their point of usefullness.
Trade him now, extend Bostons window

Motte is a 4th line player and easily replaced. He should not be this important.

We’ll see what happens, but they are not trading Lauzon. Either they make a trade with Seattle or they lose him to them.

Cool. How's it work then.

You trade Johnson for Ferland. 5mil out 3.5 in.
You put Ferland on LTIR you can exceed the cap by 3.5. no?

It only frees up 4 .5 mil and saves the Canucks the uninsured portion of Ferlands in actual dollars.

Correct - Tampa cap space increases by $8.5 in this deal.

They did it this year with Nilsson/Gaborik

But it only works if it's their second move. If they're 8.5mil over it doesn't get them compliant.

Except you're not getting anything valuable in return with this deal. A 3rd round pick is rather insignificant, A declining 30yr old on a bad contract, and a 4th liner in return. Why would you trade a 4th liner for another 4th liner and cap problems? Makes absolutely 0 sense. Need to be getting something substantial back if you're taking Johnson.

Lmfao no I do. I like Joseph and he has some potential to play higher in the lineup but currently he's a 4th liner. He doesn't hold nearly enough value to take back 5m of dead weight for 3yrs. You need another major asset. Clearly you don't know that it takes a lot for a cap dump in a flat cap. Which is pretty evident in you thinking Seattle will just take Roussell no strings attached.

clearly you have no idea how francis has made his teams or played his career. Roussel is not a cap dump as he is a useful NHLer and is more attractive then Holtby or fringe NHLers

2nd and Joesph for Jjohnson is worth it.

you are clearly a delusion fan with rose glassess.

Lmao Roussell hasn't been anywhere near the player he was since his knee surgery and he injured his knee again this year. He is absolutely a cap dump even if Francis likes those style of players. News flash, there are cheaper players that play that style of game.

Tampa is not getting out of Johnson's contract without adding a 1st + or a high end talent.

I'd say the the delusional fan with rose glasses is the one thinking the Canucks will get out of Roussell contract that easily.

Seattle could take nothing from us and then fill the same role that Roussell would play with a million dollar free agent signing.
