It's actually not as bad as you think.

Rust has been top 6 quality for a few years now. the issue is more that he doesn't have support on CBJ and that he isn't a need of theirs whatsoever, but he certainly isn't a third liner.

McCann would probably be developed as a 2C.

In terms of raw trade value, this is right, but these guys don't fit in CBJ at all.


I think your mock trade for Jones (although more realistic) is more lopsided as an overpayment than this one is as an underpayment.

Others have said enough about the ludicrous Jones concept, so I'll just add that the goalie swap is most assuredly not worth it to both teams - the term on Jarry's contract makes him undesirable here.

B Rust's trade value is hard to determine. He has played one full season and it was a shortened year. He has put up good numbers as of late but he is 29 and has the advantage of playing with a couple of decent centers...

Probably but we don’t have the draft picks to make it any better than that. Two top six forwards isn’t the worst offer
