Description
-I really like the idea that both Juolevi and Patrick could use new homes and a one for one could work after injury plagued early years.
- Pay off Seattle to take Myers with Kole Lind as an extra asset
- Domi wants to play with Horvat and is happy to be with him long-term in Van. He takes a discount because of the term. This gets a cost neutral long term 3C or 2nd line winger for injuries. (could add an additional late round pick if necessary).
- Jet Black Jim is classic and over pays for a vet in Stasny (or getzlaf) but knows now that a 1 year deal is ideal and he could maybe be flipped at the deadline.
- Short term deal with Hamonic he wants to stay so should be cheap.
- 1 year show me deal on Mccabe coming off injury, in shut down pairing with Schmidt
- Bring back edler as 7 d ( or Jordie Benn cheaper option)
- Ceci reasonable 3rd pair guy who can help Rathbone in d-zone against lower end competition.
- fill in with depth pieces in the minors.
- I see the deals for Schmidt/Kocnecny but decided getting Seattle to take Myers is best option.
- I see most of the deals as plus minus a few hundred thousand or a late round pick added in any of the deals but I think this could be a reasonable scenario.
- if beagle is LTI use his and Stasny money to sign Hughes and Petey for 8 years.
- 2022/23 ufa class is deep leave all your money for then.

Philly doesn't need anymore LD's. Patrick will most likely be a part of a bigger trade not for a prospect or a pick straight up.

I don't understand why CBJ trade one of their top 6 players, and retain half the salary, for a cap dump + 2nd. And then I don't know why Domi would take a pay cut for the next 7 years. He might be best mates with Horvat, but come on...

Also Nolan Patrick sucks.

I'd rather keep Myers and not sign Stastny and Ceci. That would bump Domi to 2LW to play with Horvat, Pearson to 3LW, Patrick to 3C and Pod to 3RW.

The problem with Myers is that he doesn't compliment Hughes or Rathbone and his contract is inefficient. You would need a defensively solid player for either one which he isn't. It's also about getting space for 22/23 free agency.

have you seen juolevi? It's about providing a new space for both players. Also Yah maybe you throw in an extra pick but Domi had a bad year and this would be buying low.

Yeah I have seen both Juolevi and Patrick, thanks. Juolevi has only played about 20 games at NHL level and does not look out of place, all that with a reported very bad case of covid and lost a heap of weight to finish the season. He has tremendous potential and could easily be a top 4 shutdown Dman in a couple of seasons. Patrick has played almost 200 games in 3 seasons now. His potential is lower IMO. He may get a little better, but it looks more like he has regressed. However, I wasn't really commenting on the fairness of the trade, more that I don't want Patrick on the Canucks. We can do better than that IMO.
