Not only is that not enough for Eichel, you want a second round pick back. The number of picks in this trade proves that Detroit does not have the assets to even think about Jack Eichel. Buffalo isn’t looking for lottery tickets in return for their best player, they want bodies. Not just anyone, but guys who are going to help them right now and make an impact.

If you think that even "immediate" bodies are keeping BUF a trade away from being competitive, you are not looking at this evenly. Not only has BUF been a bad team, they have nearly zero real prospects considering how bad they have been. This is not a team that needs to re-tool, they need to burn it all down. The trade above upgrades their prospect pool immensely even if you discount the 3 picks in the top 40 choices including a top 5 pick.

You need thicker skin if you're going to be on CFACGM. No one respects a crybaby. Listen to what fans of other teams are saying instead of getting your back up just because someone disagrees with you. They watch each game and know their teams. Learning is much better than arguing.

These owners won't be able to sell fans another rebuild and they know it and GM too knows it.

First Detroit is protecting Stecher, Hronek and most likely Cholowski. Leaving Lindstrom unprotected and if he is taken it ok because we have Tuomisto. Why would Detroit trade Tuomisto he has earned praise every he goes. I have nothing against Clang but Detroit has 4 goalie prospects as just as good. Björkqvist at 23 has been a pro for 2yrs and has only played 11 games in the AHL. From Detroit's pov neither of those players have a lot of value when you want one of their best D prospects. That Eichel trade if you can't see why that is bad for Detroit you nerd help.

Totally agree w you but Seattle wouldn't then take Lindstrom over Vlad/Svech, whichever is left unprotected under 7/3/1

I’m not disagreeing but ah man are we going to leave Lindstrom unprotected? The thought of him being taken upsets me. I just think he’s a rock solid bottom pair guy and despite common belief those guys don’t always grow on trees (good ones don’t) but are so important for teams to take that step in contending

>despite common belief

not rly belief just that he doesnt help offensively in any way, i.e. totally replaceable

you can find league min $ dmen with more experience--moving the puck is the valuable thing

No thank you on the Eichel trade, Detroit's not moving a top 6 pick and a potential lottery pick next season for Eichel. You're too low on Hronek he'll get about 3 x $4,800,000. FYI Djoos is playing overseas for 2 years and wont be resigned. With all these moves you just blocked both Berggren and Raymond long term.
