You don’t want the Leafs to win either ?

It’s mostly leafs fans stuck 3 years in the past, or those who believe the Don Cherry mantra that all Europeans are soft, that dislike Nylander. Most people with a brain recognize that he’s a 30 goal right shot winger on a fair contract, and that the bs he gets for not going to the front of the net and the like falls apart upon closer inspection, making him a valuable commodity.

As for the trade, I’d imagine it starts with either Lundkvist or Schneider, then you add either Buchnevich or Kravtsov (likely they try to get Kakko, but the Rangers probably don’t give up on him yet). I’d think that’s probably pretty close to a done deal. If it’s Kravtsov instead of Buchnevich maybe you add a 2nd or something. I don’t think he’s the answer at 2C for the Rangers though, he’s better as a winger.

nylander and those prospects are both very good

I think given the chance he could still make a successful transition to center, but even if that never happens, he does offer something most wingers don't - very good faceoff skills. He's a career 51% in the regular season and 57% in post-season. And that's not with 4 or 5 draws per season either, he's taken a substantial enough to expect those numbers to carry on (maybe even improve with more experience). It does add a little more flexibility to one's lineup. He could easily take draws and flip to wing on a line where maybe the center is good positionally but weaker in the dots.

This 100%. As a Ducks fan, I'd love to get Nylander (But obviously the price wouldn't make sense at right now).
