Some malarkey here

33 year old "the definition of league average" Bernier getting almost as much as 21 year old Dahlin is brutal and that Nylander return is quite ugly too

I'm sorry but malarkey like that warrants my weekly harsh comment it's just so avoidable ultimately

Goalies on the FA market usually are overpaid, as does every FA that comes to BUF... The return on Nylander is based off of a few ACGM i have seen throught the MON-TOR series.

From a Leafs fan prospective, I don't mind the Nylander trade. The Leafs get a RHD who's bigger, and a big forward who's still young. It checks a couple of boxes. The 2nd rounder is a late one being that it's Boston's. Maybe remove that for a decent prospect and I think it pushes the leafs further ahead than back.

The roster is three men short, and I’m pretty sure that they’ll find a cheaper back up. They’ll have to because you still need to pay three more people anyway. The Calgary deal doesn’t make a ton of sense for either team.

3 men short? I just have the lineup here. Arttu, Samuelson, Insert signed ROCH Amerk. doesnt change cap, Goaltenders on Open FA market are 100% overpaid. Plus Ullmark will need to split games. you wont find a goalie on the open market willing to split games with a save percentage over .900 for under 4 mill

Typically the NHL has a 23 man roster counted toward the salary cap. What I saw is a 20 man roster. Not many teams will pay $3 million or more for goaltender who’s going to play less than 40 games. Maybe they should, but again we’re not exactly a prime destination.
