Description

No matter what happens tonight I hope Dubas remains GM of the Leafs for a long time. He's easily the best GM they've had in my lifetime and its not even close. The disappointment of dropping another first round will be nothing compared to seeing this team endure another Nonis, JFJ or Burke and having the roster stripped down and traded off for terrible returns to address their lack of "toughness" or whatever it is every drunk uncle in Leafs Nation claims the team is missing. He gave them every opportunity to win this season and if they fail it's 100% on the players.

Could not agree more.

Dubas has done an amazing job with what he was given, and I don’t think he gets enough credit.

I agree with everything you have stated here Barbs. Dubas built an excellent team. Running into a hot goalie is a reality of the playoffs. If anything the Habs should fire MB for not putting a better team in front of the best goaltender. I don't care what anyone says, Carey has proven time and again that he is the best. I feel sorry for the guy that he has been wasted with no complete team in front of him.

Watching the possession game between the Leafs and Habs proves the Leafs have a good team. But when the only thing getting by Carey is random deflections you really don't have a chance.

I think Campbell has played solid. But once again the Leafs are in a situation where they don't have a goaltender who is going to steal them a game. Now it doesn't have to be a goaltender like Price who steals 3 (maybe 4 tonight). But one game here or there would be nice.

Final comment. I am really happy about this series for fans on this site in particular. This series has single handedly proven that analytics and stats aren't everything.

But completely agree this has nothing to do with Dubas and everything to do with the Leafs stars.
Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner have scored one goal on a combined 59 shots in the series.

That’s a 1.7 shooting percentage.

During the regular season, they scored 61 goals on a combined 378 shots, or 16.1 percent.
