on the leafs there wouldn't be much i'd want other than robertson, sandin, or the 1st. anyone else is too expensive or the avs would have to protect. not really worth it for the leafs.

sandin, robertson, or our first is already way too expensive. Graves cannot have that much value, especially if he might be taken by the Kraken

If Toronto trades for Graves they will automatically lose one of Graves, Brodie, Rielly or Muzzin in the expansion draft.

I would have a three way deal in place with seattle to ensure they dont take graves

my guess is a team with a higher 2nd will offer that for graves so they leafs would have to top that. leafs don't really have many mid round picks to add either.

So? The Avs are losing somebody in the XD. They aren’t making a bad trade “because they might lose him to the Kraken”, then they just end up losing another player and making a bad trade. If COL could make it happen (NHL don’t listen), they get Seattle to take EJ with an enticement (that’s another discussion) have him bought out and bring him back on a lesser deal. Wishful thinking probably but the Avs aren’t making a pre XD trade for Graves that doesn’t benefit them greatly.
