Why would you call the caps management "morons"?

Boston has no need for RD.

And neither team does the 2nd one. Plus Coyle has an NMC.

Because I 100% guarantee you they can’t see the writing on the wall and won’t rebuild with some insane drafts coming up and an aging core that is falling apart...

also the mantha trade LMAO

why would coyle waive his NTC?

That’s true, doubt he wants to go to a rebuilding team, but maybe because he gets a top 6 role on Washington he waives, or perhaps with the promise that they’ll eventually flip him.

I considered it but it made the most sense for Boston tbh. devils ain’t done their rebuild they can’t capitalize on the rest of carlson’s contract

A full scale rebuild is the fastest way for us to get back to legitimate contention (besides something seismic like an Eichel trade), but I'd fully expect us to push that off until after Ovechkin retires, and the large majority of the fanbase is okay with that. As frustrating as the three first round losses have been, we all want to see Ovechkin's chase for Gretzky, and you never know if they go on a deep run. I'd consider it highly unlikely we get out of the second round with the roster as currently constructed, but the 2018 team wasn't supposed to either. I'm okay with riding out 8 and 19 for the rest of their careers and then looking to start over.

Probably right.

But if I said, “NJD may be interested in Carlson”
Someone always responds, “He won’t waive to go to NJ”

So I was just skipping that part.
He is from there.

If I squint really hard I can almost see a 1 for 1 of Kuzy for Monahan - but there is no way we would give up a 24 yr old top pair LHD and those picks for Kuzy!

There's more to it naturally but that helps

Yeah it makes sense to do that but I'd hope they'd do it a but more fully than this with more futures acquired and salary retension and whatnot

Sprong Samsy Vanny on ELCs keeps them competitive

Lots of good depth too
