If Ottawa is going to commit money and assets this offseason, adding an LW is the area or least concern. The needs as the team sees it are a Defensive D and a top 6 C.

Also it's insanely early to be deciding that there's no room for Lassi Thomson. He's a 20 year old playing his first North American pro season, and he played pretty well. He's got a lot to work on, and he'll be at least a couple more years in the AHL, but he can absolutely be a part of this D long term. I'm not opposed to moving him for the right piece to help now, but there's no reason to just give him away in a deal that Ottawa doesn't need.
