Is it possible to do 6 years in a row with a first round exit?

Let's find out!

They have to. The core has shown it can’t win, keeping it together will result in the same old every year. Teams like the blues and penguins (after 2009) couldn’t win until they made a big move and I think the leafs need to do the same

One of the 4 has to go

Leafs have made all the changes while keeping the core guys and it has not worked

Dubas needs to make a statement to this team as all they have done so far is let him down. He added at the deadline to reward their hard work and Matthews and Marner responded by not showing up for the playoffs.

whether its Rielly or Marner or Nylander maybe even Matthews something has to give. Dubas cannot be running a charity as this teams goal is to get a cup and if it means moving a big piece of two to do so than so be it.

Caps took forever to win w Backstrom, Ovi, Carlson and Kuzy but they did eventually. These guys are young, and the leafs future is bright there’s no need to jeopardize it

In my opinion the Capitals are the exception, not the rule

In general it's tough I kind of want dubas to make minimal changes and trust the process like Washington did but I also want big change to happen that shakes this team to the core

You're not wrong about WAS, but I feel like more of a problem for the Leafs is not that they lose, its how they lose, and when they lose. For instance, if Ovi played the way Marner has the last 3 years post-season, would they have trusted the process? It's one thing to lose, but to lose because A) your stars aren't producing, and B) lack of work ethic/intensity, for 4 years straight, and when you have a 3-1 series lead against a team that finished 18pts below you in a shortened season... its time to ask some tough questions.

It's ironic because that's exactly what happened to the Caps in 2010. IIRC they had been the best team in the regular season and lost in game 7 to the Halak led Habs after having been up 3-1 in the series.

Fun fact, that was also Ovi's 5th season in the league.

lol, that is a funny coincidence. The difference being Ovi still had 10 points in 7 games though.
