Which Core Forward Would the Leafs Seriously Move

Description
I am well aware that this wound for Leafs fans is fresh, so I will try and be delicate.

The fact of the matter is, this is no longer a 1 time thing. Blowing a 3-1 Series lead to your most hated rival is bad enough. But it's just the icing on the cake.

The Leafs are now 1 and done in the Playoffs for the 5th year in a row of the Auston Matthews Era. The team that shows up in the Regular Season, can't hack it against the better teams in the Playoffs.

And while some of that could be attributed to having too much finesse and not enough grit for some of those years (something the Rangers are already guilty of and are now trying to fix early), the real culprit is Cap space.

This new trend of locking up big names to massive deals after their ELC's expire is maddening. There is so much Turnover year after year, you need to have flexibility in your Roster. And you need to save money where you can. The Leafs ate up all their Cap immediately with their young players, while simultaneously signing Tavares (worst decision ever) to another unnecessary large deal. Less money to go around to other parts of the team. And it shoes.

I see a lot of Marner trades around ACGM now. But who else could realistically be moved. Leafs need depth. They need to move Cap.

At 0-5 in the Matthews Era, this is just not working.

I honestly don't think any is getting moved.
AM and JT are 100% staying, if anything Marner is out due to his bad playoffS performances (not just this year).
Once again, I think the 4 players stay with the Leafs, but who knows.

Nylander showed up for playoffs so not him
Tavares has a NMC/NTC so not him
AM is the elite C and G scorer so probably not him
Leaves Marner... but...
With Freddy gone and a Reilly trade they might just sign Jones or something to solidify the back end more. Trading 11M players is tough to do, especially when they are known for lack of production when it matters

Matthews obviously isn't moving
Nylander has a decent contract and shouldn't be moved
JT won't be moved either with his NMC. He's older with a huge contract. I don't think a team would give up anything substantial for him anyways.

Marner is the only one that makes sense to move

Marner should go. He's becoming a playoff disaster.

Those cap hits make it really hard to move any of them. Nylander is the one who is easiest to move given his contract. But let's not pretend like Matthews has been that much better in the playoffs. In elimination games (either eliminating or could be eliminated) Matthews has only 4 points in 9 games, same as Marner. Both don't show up for the playoffs. Matthews had 5 points against the Habs, 3 of those came in Game 2. Zero shot attempts in the first period, two shots total. That's not good enough.

Odds of being traded:

Marner: 1-in-5
Nylander: 1-in-10
Matthews: 1-in-250
Tavares: 1-in-1000
