There defence and goalie was fine it’s about making space for Matthews and marner Wilson and kadri Simmons will force teams to keep there head up and feel pressured

Because the Avs are definitely looking to trade away players for futures, not compete for the cup. Makes total sense.

COL trade is dependent a lot imo what happens in the next 5 games. Avs flourish probably do but will want a little better prospect, Avs struggle not likely.

i think Colorado accepts this, Kadri hasn't been doing much for half the regular season and pretty irrelevant in the 2 playoff games, plus he will miss the next 5 still most likely. I understand we're in our window right now but the 2022 first is a deep draft and with 4.5 extra mil for next season that gives us plenty of room to resign saad. Worst case scenario we use the assets here to aquire another number 2 before the next deadline if newhook or jost don't look like they can handle the spot.
I think we might ask for a little better prospect but the team doesn't look to miss kadri for the most part.

He's no doubt underperformed this year, but this is selling low to me. Upgrade Der-Arguchintsev to Abramov or Amirov and I think it's more likely, though I'm not sure if the 1st would be too much then. And yes, we've done fine without him over the past three games, but that's a small sample size and Jost still isn't producing loads of offense. Love how he's grown this year, but he's a 3C. Could Newhook slot in? Maybe? Tough to say right now.

I get we are selling low on him but you have to think with his contract being up after next year and our money starting to become tight will we resign him? Newhook should be able to take that spot in two years, hopefully next year so it's kind of get something for him this year or let him walk the following year for nothing.

I think it all depends on what happens this year. If they win the cup, obviously Landy, Makar, and Grubby will be getting hefty raises. Deal him, save the cap, and move on. If they don't though, I imagine they take another run at things and tweak things here and there. Tough to say; just feels like we have a 2-3 year window to take advantage of before Mack's new deal kicks in.
