Eklund isn't far from playing in the NHL and if the Canucks want to run a center core of Pettersson/Horvat/Miller, he could be a key piece to the speed and skill that Benning is looking for on the wings while navigating the salary cap.

Risky, because this team is only as good as Eklund, Hoglander, and Podkolzin make them the way this is constructed. Gonna need at least 2 of those 3 to be legit top 6 guys out of the gate

I'm not a fan of Vesey either, but Miller's played with him in the past so if they can get him on league min maybe that's worth a shot in a full season. Could be something better in free agency though.

Hoglander has definitely shown that he can be a top-6 guy. It would be best if Podkolzin started on the third or fourth line due to his play style to start off. The way Eklund has been talked about, he could eventually drive his own line so having him with Pettersson and Boeser could be really nice.

The point having the three lines is that you don't have to rely on just two lines and can shelter guys more.
