I'm willing to bet neither Der-Arguchintsev nor Hollowell ever sees 50 games in the NHL.

    i don't hate the moves.

like the first line, i think that combo could work really well.

i'd keep kerfoot on the third line, and plunk galchenyuk on the 4th.

Not going to lie, I wouldn't trade Klingberg straight up for Marner. Adding in Gurianov doesn't help Dallas whatsoever. We have enough guys who underperform in the playoffs.

Just looking at playoff points Guri and Klinger are good for 1.28 PPG together for $6.8 million total. Marner is good for 0.78 PPG for $10.9 million. So we get an extra 0.5 PPG out of our current two and have an extra 4.1 million in cap space. Also if we make this trade we have to find a replacement for Klinger. Marner is a very talented player but he isn’t 10.9 million dollars we’ll spent. I wouldn’t give up Klinger straight up either all things considered. The only way I’d pull the trigger on that is if Klinger doesn’t want to sign here. And even then I feel like we can do better (big picture) elsewhere

Not saying I’d do the deal, but you have to make the playoffs in order to underperform in them. And for a team like Dallas that’s made the postseason twice in the last five years, are they really in a position to judge a player like Marner based on his playoff performance while ignoring his regular season numbers?

Marner had 67 in the regular season. Klinger and Guri had 66. Klinger and Guri are still four million against the cap cheaper this year and next. You still have to replace Klinger if you make this deal. Yes I realize I emphasized playoff numbers and yes I realize everybody is playing the same song when it comes to Marner right now (which doesn’t make it not true). I stand behind my opinion that Dallas, if healthy, is still a strong playoff team. And even if they weren’t that doesn’t invalidate my opinion of another team’s player’s playoff performance
