Why not he is a fast PPG scoring winger, isn’t that exactly what EDM needs? I think he would be the perfect player to play with McDavid.

We could use a depth player like Rust, but we could sign someone in free agency right now. I feel like it would make more sense to acquire him at the deadline or if we don't sign reliable depth in the off season.

Its really not solid, they are mostly all young and inexperienced and couldn't provide secondary scoring in the playoffs.

I do agree that EDM is strong on the right side, but I don’t view any of them as good line mates for McDavid. Puljarvi is a middle six talent, Yamamoto is not quite ready for first line minutes, and Archibald and Kassian are bottom six wingers

Puljujarvi is a very good winger for McDavid. He has been playing excellent when he got transferred straight from Finland.

I agree, and we will. We just can’t touch that right side unless we move Kassian. Puljujarvi, and Yamamoto need to stay up on the top 2 lines in my opinion. We need a left side since Nuge is probably going to leave. We need a starting goalie, not another right shot winger. You watch, next year when we make the playoffs, they will play better. It was their first time in the playoffs. That is the only way you can learn is to play in it.

I don't trust Kassian to play in the top six. He is not a top six winger and we have enough bottom six right wingers so a guy like Rust can take Kassians spot.

If we can get rid of Kassian, then sure Rust can slot on the third line. Kassian wouldn’t be top 6, as Yamamoto, and Puljujarvi will.

These trades are absolutely AWFUL for the pens. That package for Columbus, I might trade Pettersson for and that’s it. Marino and Guentzel each alone are worth more than that
