how? marner was literally top 5 in the league in scoring, robertson has been rated a top 15 prospect league wide. Liljegren is very similar to rasmus andersson.

Marner was top 5 in scoring yes, everything else you said is a complete homer take and entirely wrong

Then you should 100% trade Matthews since it's obvious he is walking

calgary was a bottom feeder in a weak division, the two situations arent comparable whatsoever

Robertson is 28th here, The fact that you think Liljegren and Andersson are in the same tier is laughable. I like Liljegren but is ceiling is a #3/4

How is you claiming Tkachuk wants out and me claiming Matthews wants out not comparable, it has absolutely nothing to do with player caliber? You obviously have no idea what you are talking about

i'm not trying to troll here, but the guys that think calgary would shoot this down are clearly overrating their own players.

marner, kerfoot, three prospects AND a first-rounder for those 2? c'mon man.

Tkachuk for Marner 1 for 1 is a fair trade in a vacuum, the rest of that does not add up to Lindholm

Lol and yet here we are both not in the playoffs. I'm not gonna weigh in on the pissing match going on here but the trade doesn't make sense for the flames. Marners contract would cause headaches for the us and we don't want prospects and futures. Our core has under performed sure but we're not rebuilding but you're really only giving us 1 bona fide piece for 2 of our best forwards. Tkachuk only gets moved for a no.1 center, Lindholm should not be available at all.

i don't entirely disagree with that, but i just think there's some more playoff-desperate / gm on the hot seat / can't generate offense teams out there that would give more for a top-5 in the league scorer.

The overall scoring in the north was higher than normal since a lot of the teams had subpar d-cores. McDavid putting up Gretzky numbers is pretty evident of that. I think in a regular 82 games season vs all 31 teams that overall scoring goes down from those 4 north division players. This is not a knock on Marner, he's a hell of a player but Lindholm pretty much does everything Marner does already barring about 10-15 points (yes Marner was 20 points ahead of him this year but Flames didnt show up for half the season). Calgary also has Gaudreau who should normally make up for that points difference, this was considered a bad year for him and he still paced 70+ points. Maybe another team would have interest but not the Flames. If Calgary is going after any superstar this offseason its Eichel only
