Alex Kerfoot stepped up in a massive way though, also one of those players would swap to the wing 100%, and if thr JT situation happens again you are able to put one of them back to centre. seems like a plus plus plus to me

yeah but we'd be quite shallow at wing. kerfoot was a poor example he was basically the only player who stepped up, alongside spezza. engvall/jumbo/simmonds/brooks/mikheyev were basically non-factors. compared to some other teams third and even fourth lines, it pales in comparison. That extra $10M could go a long way to building a skilled/gritty/competitive third line of excellent players, rather than into just one guy

see the leafs still have 5-6M they can allocate to the wing even if they swap marner and eichel. i just think the impact eichel would have would alot larger than marners. eichels ability to actually put the puck in the net would be a major boost. really curious to see what he can do away from the tirefire buffalo.

eichel would be a colossal improvement for sure, I agree. I just would worry about the cap implications, as amazing as that centre depth would be
