U get a rookie who will be a top 6 forward, goal scoring power forward, and two picks

A rookie who will be a top 6 forward?
For a team that needs to win now, when will that be? So that’s not a great argument because right now he is a 3rd liner at best.
A goal scoring power forward?
I don’t see that in this trade. Miles Wood is a 3rd liner whose career high is 17 goals. His previous career high was 11 goals. Hardly goal scoring prowess for a guy that’s scored 40 before and whose career low in goals is only 1 less than Wood’s career high. And that was only in 40 games lol.
2 picks? A late first in a weak draft and a 2nd round pick. Neither will help get us past the 1st round in the next 2 years and Guentzel will.

Folks here seem to be going a bit wild because a lot of letters in Guentzel appear in Gretzky or something as it's only 3 years of him and he's kinda overrated

The crosby factor adds that extra bit to his value

He's superb for sure but like gosh gee whiz

Quality cost controlled NHLers like Kuokk and Wood are great for that situation though inversely though it definitely has them with too many good not great Ws

The Pens have no use for Wood and Kuokkanen. The 1st is going to be late in a weak draft and the 2nd is just a throw in.

Yes but you get jake Guentzel, and we want our cups NOW. A middle 6 forward and 3 question marks won’t help us. If we trade Guentzel it needs to be a Neal for Hornqvist type deal. A real hockey deal where we get a player of similar value who just plays differently
