Ya, was looking at expansion after I posted this. Leafs are really limited as they only have Kerfoot, Engvall, Holl and Hutchinson to expose to meet requirements. Protecting Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander, Reilly, Brodie, Muzzin and Campbell.

Probably true, he had a good year. A guy like Di Giuseppe likely get more. Does Simmonds or Thornton return?

Normally I'd agree with you but here's some food for thought: this is the second straight playoffs where Hyman has looked very ordinary.

My question to you is, how will a Hyman contract age? I'm particularly talking about years 3 and 4 here. Truthfully, to get the AAV at something reasonable the Leafs can afford, we're looking at a 5-6 year deal.

Not sure how I feel about this anymore.

Maybe Simmonds but not at 1.5, Thorton I doubt it I think he knows he's done, maybe taxi squad if he's at all interested

5 years at 4.5 puts him at 33 when it's up, he's still the engine that gets it all going, Hyman played as expected , it's the money Guys that couldn't finish, Hyman isn't paid to finish he's paid to get the puck and muck it up on the forecheck

But he looked very ordinary (again) at the things he excells at. I know he's not a finisher but man..he did not have the same kind jump and hustle he had before the injury.

No one does when they have a knee injury and sit the last 2 weeks of a season and then thrust into a playoff game, he is only human, he'll be his usual pesky self for a number of years to come
