Gardiner to Montreal actually makes sense, they need a PMD so bad over there

No, Carolina's D if they lose Skjei is already weak on the left.

He's been really good when he's healthy. His issue is that Bean is a healthier version of himself.

Obviously I'm not sure if Montreal would be willing to take that on but I was saying montreal needs a d-man like Gardiner and he fits their needs

yeah he does fit a need, IF the cap was lower and the term was lower.

His xGF will be, and he's a powerplay QB, something they desperately need. He also had fewer turnovers/game than Dougie Hamilton

signing Svech for 4 years takes him to UFA.

Im betting Canada based teams are the ones on Gardiner's 7 team no trade list.

    If I made these lines:
    Killorn-Aho-Svech
    Coleman-Tro-Necas
Nino-Staal-Turbo (one the best 3rd lines who can score in the league)
    Martinook-Lorentz-Geekie

Ned at 4 years is too much risk. Give him 2 years at 3 million and see what he can do. He has only started 35 games.
I doubt Mrazek sticks around to be the 1B. He wants to be the 1A.
Giving Barrie 6 x 5 will come back to bite us for sure.
Bean isnt taking 1 mil per over 3. He might do that for one season.

not interested bud tbh. if he was 2 mill cheaper? sure. if you really want to unload him, you'll have to send assets with him.

Bahahaha that's funny. He's instantly into the MTL top 4.

not really. he'll play in the bottom 6. he's horrendous. you'll need to spend assets to get rid of him, or retain almost half

Nope, he's well worth it when he's healthy. In Montreal, he's easily better than Edmundson. He's better than... whatever combination of extra defenseman you want to throw on that bottom pair. Plus, he'd be a puck-moving defenseman on the left. Something Montreal lack horribly.

of course mtl needs puck moving D-men. but they don't need downgrades. edmundson can defend at least. he shut down marner this whole series. keep gardiner, thank you very much.

Literally... when they were head to head in Carolina, Gardiner was a mile better. It's not even a competition. Gardiner is easily better than Edmundson and is a major upgrade on players like Kulak, Edmundson or Merrill.

I wouldn't want to move him. He's not a cap dump and he's certainly still a capable offensive defenseman.
