Initial Creation Date: Jun. 2, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Nj moves up to 2OA and drafts luke hughes. They also manage to steal matthew coronato late in the 1st rd.
Devils sign Dougie Hamilton(yes I know CAR probably brings him back, this is just for fun)
Trade with a team in need of freeing up cap space(NYI,TB,)
Holtz and Foote end up being ready to make an impact
Sea takes johnsson in the XD
Devils get a big LD either through FA or trade.
Sign a goalie who can split the season with Blackwood so they don't rely on him too much.
Also just realized NJ pretty much has most of the Islanders early picks lol.

The isles aren’t that desperate where they need to give up a 2022 1st and their best D prospect to free up cap space.

Why do devils fans have this idea that a division rival is just going to give them a young top 4 defenseman on a good long term contract for free? Even crazier, retain on him for 4 years too.

First, I like all of the moves.
Isles don't give up their 1st in '22 would they give up a Bellows and Bolduc/Wilde?
Petterson seems to be the XD fodder from your fanbase (or a 3rd at best), how does that make him a top 4 D?
    Not poking just asking

Then why do Penguins fans keep on trading him if he's a top 4 dman on a good long term contract

Because pens fans always need a whipping boy. I mean I look at his stats, advanced metrics, and his play (especially after finally being put back with Marino).

I mean there is a pens fan on here that always traded Jack Johnson for Mitch Marner straight up. Do you really think Jack Johnson was worth Mitch Marner straight up?

He is a boom or bust prospect - could be a high end #3 D with PP1 upside. Needs a few more years to work on his defensive game, reminds me of Keith yandle.
