Assumptions:
FLA is looking to lose the Bob contract
FLA is looking to contend now and into the future
ANH is looking to rebuild/get younger
ANH doesn't mind taking on some money for the right price

Think the most fundamental problem with trading Bob is the NMC of his contract. He would not leave a playoff team to a rebuilder...

Gibson is a very good goalie and has a history of being one of the best

I like this idea a lot but with Gibson turning 28 in a month and just being solid the last two years... idk... Spknight does seem like he's quite something

It seems he's about an Ullmark level goalie now

Next 2 years maybe he's worth 6M$ but after that 😬

ANA isn’t taking Bob’s contract, and you sure as hell aren’t getting Gibson as part of that, dial up Seattle and say how much to take him?

Definitely Anaheim's bad defense lowers his sv% numbers but this really isn't elite Gibson anymore and he turns 28 in a month like idk 😕

Without Gibson this year ANA makes BUF look almost good.

That's kinda the point tho.
Gibson is going to be well past his prime when ANH are ready to contend, and they get a massive goalie of the future who is damn near nhl ready today for him. Plus moving Gibson will help you tank in the next 2 years, 2 years where you absolutely want to tank as the top of the drafts are insane

Bob is owed $10M for FIVE more years, he’s been a .902 / 3.10 goalie in FLA what does he turn into in FLA a sub .900 goalie? Yeah Knight is super nice but $10M in cap space to what sit on the bench? Ouch.
