That’s a massive no from Buffalo.

Deal is probably closer to what Eichel will actually bring in than what most people think. Probably one other (or different) piece as Strome isn't worth much to the Sabres.

I find it hard to believe that the Sabres will sell Jack Eichel at lower than his value. If they don’t get value, they can sit in him.

Eichel deal is not that far off IMO, but NYR would still have to add.

The Columbus trade is nowhere near close.

Might not even get Jones alone (and with retention) for that package.

With him not getting the surgery yet, you don’t even know if he’s even going to play this upcoming season. Neck injuries are no joke. It’ll be a lot harder if he doesn’t play AND then you tack on that his NMC kicks in after the season ends, the return will simply be bad at that point. You’ll be able to kiss players like kakko & turcotte goodbye and it’ll be like kaliyev, a 1st & 2nd or Jones, Chytil and a 1st

Or they just keep him. You don’t sell Jack Eichel for pennies on the dollar. If you’re not willing to pay up for an elite center, then you can’t have him. That should be Adams’ point of view. You don’t have to trade him and keeping a superstar is not a punishment for the Sabres.

All I’m saying is that he may not be comfortable ever playing without the surgery, and Buffalo hasn’t let him get it yet. The situation can get worse than it is. Once his nmc kicks in it just makes it that much harder. Similar situation that Buffalo was in with taylor hall where the return wasn’t great.

But different in that hall was a UFA and Eichel has five more years left on his deal.

I’m not saying the return will be what hall got. I’m just saying that it will be less than what eichel should get. Just like the return for hall was less than what he should’ve gotten since he only wanted to go to boston

Except the Sabres had no power over hall. They weren’t going to sit on hall. They can absolutely sit on Eichel and I doubt Eichel will refuse all trades for 5 years.
