If Beagle stays on LTIR, he is meaningless in any trade. Not sure the Canucks want to add 8.5m in cap without sending any cap back to the Leafs, and give up a first rounder for one year of Reilly

No offence, but are you brain dead?

You can argue the "need" of Rielly on Vancouver all you want. But for that kind of value, you take the trade and run. Worst case you flip Rielly for way more cause he's worth more than that.

Beagle = Vancouver doesn't need to spend real money on a player that will be on LTIR all season likely.
DiPietro = Vancouver doesn't need because they've already locked up Demko who's their starter for the foreseeable future.
1st round pick = sure it'd be nice for Vancouver to have. But realistically at #9 are you gonna pick a player that will ever be as good as Rielly?

Your comment seems more like a Leafs hater comment rather than an actual relevant one. Cause Vancouver gets the better end of that deal and accepts it any day of the week.

You don't trade a 1st that could be a lottery pick for a rental you don't need. The Canucks led the league in dman scoring so why would you ever consider a trade for an offensive defenceman you have zero use for. There are bigger needs and you would know that if you actually watched the games

Lol. I love the argument of "you would know that if you actually watched the games" but I guarantee I've watched more than you have over the years.

Also, as I said, even if you think you don't need him, for the amount of value you get in that deal you take it and flip Rielly for more somewhere else. That's a massive underpay even if it's a lottery pick. They only way it's not is if it's 1st overall which you have like an 18.5% chance of it being. You can get substantially more for Rielly than an LTIR player, a mediocre prospect, and a maybe lottery pick. that's a joke offer.
