Regardless though, I think if we make the yoffs next season he can probably come join us at that time

maybe but I doubt Green would trust him. I have a feeling they might try Podkolzin at 3C he seems to be more of a fit as a center

Like I mean not as a 3C but just as extra offensive help for the Yoffs. Always helps at the TDL knowing you've got free help coming in for the postseason

Short answer: No
Long answer: I would think he would need another year in College. Few better places to develop than at elite NCAA program these days. And the Michigan team will be loaded. But if it is another pandemic year, I'd think AHL would be his destination, which means he may get into NHL next season. But if NCAA goes accordingly, late April 2022 is earliest NHL will see him.

Definitely needs a year or 2 at Michigan. The workload in the NCAA allows him crucial time in the weight room which I think will do him wonders. He didn’t even play center with the exception a couple games when Beniers was out.

Kent Johnson will not be a center at the NHL level. He didn't even play center at Michigan this year. For some reason there are a bunch of guys listed as centers that aren't actually centers in this draft (Eklund, Johnson, Sillinger, Samoskevich, etc).
