DAL declines. Until we know why Drouin is out, he has virtually no value. No one is risking to take him in at this point.

He probably had some kind of depression because of the pressure he faced every day being in MTL. Media are too harsh on him and so are the fans. He needs a change of scenery. He was our best player in the first month and a half of the season and was on pace for 70 pts +. In the right environment behind big names like Benn and Seguin, he should thrive. Getting a potential 60pts + guy at 4 millions to only drop of 14 spot at the draft is a steal imo.

Depressed under huge pressure topped with the crap he got to his name back in Tampa are two huge red flags. Imo calling him a 60 pts guy is a huge stretch as well considering he's only twice managed to get 50, never that 60.

He might have some untapped potential, but for now I'd keep out those sweepstakes. Too many question marks to move good pick away, even if this draft year in itself is also a question mark.

Makes a lot of sense for the Canucks, but moving two high picks hurts a lot.

I would be on board with this after a long due diligence process. Drouin would not be the first person going back to a normal life after solving his mental issues. He would not have any problems in Dallas in doing his job and going to a restaurant without signing hockey cards.

The big question here is if he is fed up with hockey or the pressure in Montreal. This is two separate things.

It’s kinda funny how upsets you are with moving into the top 10 especially considering it’s a weak draft.

I’d still love a top 10 pick though. Several nice pieces there

This kid eats hockey imo. There's no way he's fed up with the sport thats for sure. He's fed up with being the target every night after a loss despite the fact most other players on the team played even worst hockey. It's also on him to be a big social media guy but still... I bet every young NHL players cant help but take a look on Twitter every now and then in order to see what the fans think of them.

I dont know haha, I just really like Eklund AND McTavish. I think theyd fit amazingly well with the team. We have the pieces to move up so why not.

Love those two. Can’t see eklund available though. Also really like Lysell and Johnson would be very interesting

There are still many scenarios in which Eklund falls to 9 imo. Here's one :

1. BUF : Beniers (make sense if they trade Eichel)
2. SEA : Power (BPA and great building block)
3. ANA : Guenther (great fit and BPA imo)
4. NJ : Luke Hughes (what is there to say)
5. CLB : McTavish or Johnson (those 2 are the best C's available as I think Eklund is more of a winger. CLB needs a top 6 C badly)
6. DET : Edvinsson (lucky he's available. Elite LHD dmen and represent a need for DET)
7. SJ : Johnson or Wallstedt (either take the skills of Johnson or a futur number one goalie which they absolutely need)
8. LA : Clarke (amazing fit. Defense prospects is basically the only thing they lack imo)
9. MTL : Eklund!!!

Dru and Montreal’s first for Dallas’ second. He’s a cap dump til he proves otherwise. And he can’t do that at home on the couch

Why are the Habs taking on cap dumps. Are they rebuilding or competing for the cup now????

VAN decline, Benning has already stated that they will buyout a few players if they have to.
