Hopefully they don't do this because this would be smart

What exactly is the point of the Buchnevich/Arvidsson swap? Also that's an overpay for Reinhart's rights in my opinion -- that should probably cost something closer to Jacob Trouba.

IF he can play center, I too would much rather have Reinhart than Eichel

Deal. But why would NYR do that deal? NSH would love to have his size and skill in their top 6 -- do you think his next deal will be too pricey?

To avoid giving Buchnevich a huge contract. Arvidsson is on a pretty good deal and can be a good leader

Do u really wanna give Buchnevich 6 years at 5.75 when Kreider is already on a longterm deal?

What are your thoughts on his next contract? I could see 5 years at $5,75m, not sure I would offer any more than that. Do you anticipate it being higher than that?

edit: lol, just saw the comment above -- we were pretty much thinking the same thing!

Reinhart doesn't want to be a part of a rebuild, so he probably will be moved.

Idk, I feel like he needs to repeat another season like this one before committing to that. It seems risky to me.

Yes they would definitely want Schneider back. Also if they trade Eichel and Reinhart, they don’t have a guy they could plug at 1C. They for sure aren’t playing Mittelstadt or Cozens there

Hes gotten better every season, both adavnced and basic stats wise, and hes an elite penalty killer and huge leader for us, and if I recall hes the joint 2nd longest tenured ranger

They're already going to have too many "offensive Dmen" with Dahlin, Power, and Bryson, all on the left side I may add. I don't like the idea of Strome as he won be part of the long term plan and a late first usually doesnt pan out, when the sabres pick it haha.

I think a trade can be made with the NYR for Reino, but I would rather see a good forward prospect, 1st, and a D-prospect

Rangers including Schneider and a 1st to get worse?

How does that make them better?

Strome's certainly been the better player since he's been in NY.
The difference certainly isnt Scheider and a 1st.

If you put Strome for sale right now, I really think no team gives up a 1st round pick

I'm not worried about the return. He's been incredibly successful in NY. They shouldnt be trading him unless it's for a legitimate upgrade... not someone that he's outscored since he came to the Rangers.

Same with the Monahan suggestions. Sure, another good player. But they're all essentially in the same boat. Why are the Rangers making trades when they are getting what they want out of the guy?

The acquired C needs to bring what the Rangers dont have, and I dont see that in Reinhart. Leadership, defensive/pker, big/physical, hard to play against. And ability to win faceoffs would be a plus.

I will give Buchnevich 7 years at $6.75 million (more than Kreider) and still think we are getting a bargain. My limit would be about 7 x $7.5 million. He is very important to this team.

Also Nashville adds to that deal.

Sure they do. Easily. Maybe even top-10 pick. It is a thin draft and Strome is very cheap relative to his production.

Rather keep Schneider, so instead move Robertson or Jones! Schneider is going to be beast!
