VAN is not moving a 1st round pick. Eriksson can just be bought out.

Get real, If the Sharks are rebuilding. they aren't going after players like Tyler Johnson and Sergei Bobrovsky. That's not what rebuilding teams do.

That’s why Kane, a good top 6 wing, is going to Vancouver in this deal.

?

They aren't going after the players though

They're just taking on their bad contracts for futures which is exactly what rebuilding teams do and the length of each fits their timeline well all told

They do if 1st and 2nd round picks come along with them.

I really like this strategy it's just a lot of very very valuable picks going back in awkward situations for non contenders I'd just switch that up a bunch

Otherwise good stuff

1000% warranted for them to rebuild 💯

I think the Sharks hold out for a 2022 or 2023 first since the 2021 draft isn’t a very strong class.

Neither Bobrovsky or Johnson are waiving for a rebuilding team, No reason to. And i seriously doubt Bill Zito is surrendering a 1st and 2nd to move Bob's contract.

Thanks! That was kind of my goal though to identify teams who think they may be a piece or 2 away from contention, but could easily end up in the lottery in drafts where there’s a lot of high end talent available.

Devils laugh. Nobody is giving you a 1st for Meier, let alone one that's likely to be high in a good draft.

Kane is a good player, there is no doubt, but he is 29 years old and is due $28M over the next 4 years. He is better off going to a team that (a) is ready for a Cup rune, and (b) has a shot at being able to afford him.

Pretty quick Rangers decline. But swap Chytil/Jones for Strome and it might be close.

1st is the price to dump Eriksson without Kane involved.
