I don’t think NYR goes for JE now. After seeing TOR fail with the big 4 I can’t imagine they want to follow that model of having lots of 10M+ guys. They likely stay the course of having a deep 3 lines, add some grit & goon while letting the youth improve.

That is a fair argument.

You should share it with NYR fans across the entire internet who won't stop saying he's theirs

Hahahah agreed! Also, I think JE stays for 2-3 seasons to see if they can get somewhere and if it doesn’t work then he is moved with 2-3 seasons remaining. And moving him today is a bad idea

Zero chance Eichel gets moved for anything involving Lafreniere

I don't think he is still a Sabre on September 1st, of not the day of the expansion draft.

Certainly not before July 1, 2022 when his NMC kicks in. He has all the leverage with the medical dispute

If they don’t let him deal with his health then yes, he is walking. I wonder if he could even terminate his contract somehow and walk away for nothing🤔. Retire-get healthy-resign elsewhere sort of thing. Would love to read the contract 😂

He wants to have a surgery that has never been done on an NHL player.

I feel strongly that he is fine not having the surgery but is using the dispute to force his way out. There have been trade rumors for 2 years now and obviously it's not the sabres leaking that their star player wants out

Vegas doesn’t need another winger. They already have Stone, Patches, Tuch, Marchy, Smith, and Stephenson if we acquire a bonafide top 6 center. Eichel (assuming cost) and possibly Reinhart (if FO believes he’s truly a center and not just relying on a tiny sample size.)

Lol Eichel isn’t worth that with unknown injury issues and the fact that everyone know he wants out you’re not get anything near that. And plus would rather have Reinhart

I think you will lose a forward in the expansion draft and you specifically need finishers

Can’t lose a forward since Vegas is exempt from the draft.

Yeah I totally agree, I think Eichel goes to Minnesota or LA
