i do not see why OTT does this, Voracek is declining, is 31 and has a high cap rate for 3 more years, White will proly match his production rate, playing on the 3rd line at half Voraceks cap hit

as a flyer; I'd take the deal if there were also at least a 2nd round pick coming.

The Voracek/White side of things tilt our way; but Patrick definitely weighs it down to OTT a lot more. He may be a disgruntled so-far-underachieving center; but he is a former 2nd overall pick, and only 22 years old.

Plus, Philly is in the contender category right now while Ottawa is in rebuilding; so I don't see why Ottawa would want Jake. (no offense to OTT. It's not like the flyers have done any better the last few years)

It needs massaging, but OTT would see the upside in this because

A) convert the overabundance of center depth to winger depth

B) Acquire a contract that is higher in cap hit than actual dollars by 4.5M over the 3 years

C) acquire "vet presence" which Dorion loves

D) increase the quality of our disgruntled underproducing asset. Patrick > Brown

E) Convert whites 4 year contract to Vora's 3 year, as other assets have passed White on the depth chart
