Description
CJ on the Steve Dangle Podcast

“There’s gonna be like one player on this roster on opening night that is gonna get everyone excited...I’m talking like a big name, a big promise player and no ones gonna see it coming...I think they’re gonna make a big move”

He then says he has a player in mind who:

A) Didnt play in the 2021 NHL Playoffs
B) Plays for an American team
C) And has multiple years left on their deal (I assume multiple years means 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 at a minimum

One player that comes to mind is Travis Konecny. Perfect fit for the Leafs imo

Chris Johnston said “There’s gonna be like one player on this roster on opening night that is gonna get everyone excited...I’m talking like a big name, a big promise player and no ones gonna see it coming...I think they’re gonna make a big move”

All those things perfectly describe Konecny

Elliotte Friedman said on his 31 thoughts podcast around the trade deadline, that the Flyers will likely make a major move. Konecny has been in and out of the lineup last season.
PHI
  1. Der-Arguchintsev, Semyon
  2. Holl, Justin
  3. Kerfoot, Alexander
  4. Král, Filip
Additional Details:
Leafs trade Kerfoot, Holl, and 2 good prospects. Kerfoot is a great 3rd liner, but is his 3.5 mil is too much for them. Holl is a good top 6 dman, but he makes too much and is easily replaceable. Their cap combined is 5.5mil, the same as Konecny's.

the reason you are trading 2 players because they "make too much" is the reason the Leafs can't get past the first round. Both Kerfoot and Holl are great values for what they do

Kral is your third-best LD prospect behind Mikko Kokkonen and Teemu Kivihalme, and Der-Arguchintsev is your fifth-best C prospect behind four guys whom I don't want to waste time typing out. Meanwhile, Philly has Andrae, York and Zamula at LD, all of whom are better prospects than Kral, and Frost, Rubtsov and Vorobyev, all of whom are better prospects than SDA. So this trade is Konecny for Kerfoot and Holl, either one of whom will be chosen by Seattle before Dermott (and you can't protect both of them, so whichever one you don't protect won't be there for this trade).

Kivihalme is 25 years old (turns 26 in a couple days) he was drafted in 2013. He is not a prospect.

"Prospect" is defined by most knowledgeable observers as anyone who has not yet played 50 games in the NHL, regardless of age.

The "prospect" that you are talking about has peaked. He has no shot at the NHL. He is a career AHL guy
