Description
The goal of this acgm is to push the playoffs 1 or 2 years away in order to have a longer Stanley cup playoff window, and to hopefully win more and longer. Getting rid of some older players will help because the change of some core players would happen now before some of the players get too old to contribute, rather then halfway into the competitive window. Also, getting value for their current cap space allows them to buy more in the future.

No one's taking that albatross of a contract that's Chris Krieder

I have to be honest, I'd be interested in bringing Krieder to the penguins at the right price. Especially if they move Zucker to SEA.
Retain 1 mil and I'm in, but I'm not giving up a ton to get him.

that contract even with a mil retained would haunt you in 2 years same problem TB with McD
6 years after this year albatross

In two years Malkin will be 16 years old. This team will be rebuilding most likely. Krieder will look like a spring chicken at 32.
That doesn't phase me at all. It's about winning now. He'd be a nice add, I know it's a bad contract, that's why I'm not giving up anything to take it.

Oh I think if they could get him they would and I think it works. He's not slow. He's still good at hockey. The real issues are his NMC, and the fact that the contract is long. But when this team is rebuilding, no one is gonna care about that contract.

Hasn’t he been very bad for NJ? I thought that that was a relatively fair price for taking the final year of his $9M contract. If not, how much would it be to acquire him, I imagine it wouldn’t be too expensive?

Devils don't need to move any salary....and if they moved Subban, they would need to get to salary floor.
Subban was much better this year.
Devils need d-men, so unlikely they will deal him unless they are getting one back.

Georgie for PK @ 1/2 off
But Devs don't trade again, it didn't work out well for us last time. Let's not try again.

I like the Laine trade a lot!

But we are getting fleeced by Flyers, Devils and Canucks. We shouldn't want any of those guys.
