Saw a list on NHL twitter and man whoever made it really has no idea how to rank goaltending tandems

https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-fantasy-hockey-goaltender-depth-chart-starters-backups-2021-22/c-299493146?tid=277729150

NJ fans should be especially mad at the rankings along with future Seattle fans and NYR fans

WARNING: THIS LIST WILL BURN YOUR EYES

Lmao why are they still counting Rask as a Bruin? They don't even have the cap space to bring him back unless he takes a massive discount.

Am I the only one who thinks Markstrom is going to have a return to form this year, the stacked top 6 (or even top 9 at this point) finally puts it together, and Calgary finishes 2nd in the Pacific?

Stacked top 6? They don’t have a 1C, and they don’t have a winger who can be a top forward.

Even if by some miracle the Flames finish 2nd in the Pacific this year, they’re still just as far away (if not farther) from being a cup contender.

Well considering they’re only bidding against teams in Finland, Rask won’t get much money at all. But it is definitely weird to include him in a list like this.

I guess he expects him to be back. But lets be real after what happened with him leaving the bubble to go be with his sick daughter and Bruins fans going out of there way to shame him saying it was his fault for the loss he should not go back

Well Rask would be playing for the Bruins, not the fans. He just tunes out the fans and plays for a great organization and plays with great teammates.

I knew he shouldn't have been playing when the news of his wrist injury first came out.

Anyways wish him a speedy recovery

Just seems weird though he decided to get it now and not last month.

Perhaps they're planning to send him to Robidas Island for this season and then get him a return flight in time for the playoffs. The Leafs could really use that cap space to meaningfully upgrade their depth and defense, as it was made painfully clear in their series against the Habs.

Toronto’s defence was good against Montréal. Plus there’s no one out there to get.

Exactly. In general leafs defense took some big strides and for the first time was not the problem. The good thing is with the new defensive coach expect it to get better as remember Carolina's defense was god awful before he arrived and he made it one of the best. Cant wait to see more SHGs from our PKers lul.

As for someone to replace matthews if this keeps him out for more time than expected. There is one guy still available via FA but is he the ideal choice no. But would be alright as our makeshift 2c should a long injury occur.

Tyler Bozak. If JT takes over 1c, Bozak honestly would be a nice 2c. Could also throw Kerfoot in there as he and Nylander did seem to do well together. Then when Matthews returns no idea

Toronto’s is rielly or Tavares.

I love both players but Tavares isn’t as good as media says he is, he’s not bad but not as good as they make him sound. Same with rielly

Agree with you on Rielly but not John Tavares. Hes been a good for us and the only leaf next to Spezza who puts 110% in to every game he plays. Plus 50 points in 50 games that aint bad in a shortened season

It really depends for Rielly, I’ve seen people call him the best D and the worst D, it’s really polarizing, i personally think Rielly is a low end top pairing D

Rielly is both fascinating and confusing to watch. He had that incredible season and everyone was like sweet here's our guy. But ever since he's regressed. I know one season was due to injury but the other one was like a bruh moment. Then the fact he's due for his next deal has some concerned and its fair as so man Dman made to much on their new deals.

Will have to wait and see what happens with him as supposedly if a deal is not finalized by the start of September hes being moved.

I don't think Tavares is overrated tbh, he's just overshadowed by Matthews. If he was his team's 1C, people would realize how fantastic he is.

If y'all had to guess which current goalie tandems have provided the best and worst on-ice value over the last two years, what would be your guesses?
