K might be early for this but with FA coming also comes the buyout period and not qualifying RFA period

so who do you all think is not being qualified and who do you all think is being bought out

I will start

Edmonton will buy out: Mikko Koskinen
NYR wont qualify: Howden

I was thinking of something and Seattle could pull a million IQ move

They take

Kuemper
Allen
Khudobin

flip Allen and get more picks

would have included Talbot to but I dont think Seattle is taking 4 goalies just to flip two of them

Kuemper? Doubt he's left exposed, I'm not sure the yotes would value Hill that much (possible though).

The others (including possibly Talbot) I could see Seattle taking though.

I believe coyotes will protect Hill

makes sense as why lose a young goalie for nothing

Kuemper is a UFA after next season and will most likely leave the Coyotes so I believe hes gonna be exposed and become Seattles new starter till he retires

It is the kind of move that could look good for the coyotes in the future for sure, it's just a bit risky, that's all.

Apparently the Ducks are a potential suitor for Eichel.

Third overall sounds like a guaranteed part of the return.

Why would the Ducks want Eichel, they're still far away from contention

Yeah

Only reasons I could think of are:
-the pacific being a dumpster fire
-to give Gibson a competitive team

I just dont see the fit

LA is pretty much done their rebuild (I know they want wings but with Kopitar, Eichel, Vilardi, Lizotte or whoever) as your 4 centers that spells contender.

Rangers just need two more pieces and their rebuild is done (i.e. Eichel and a Top 4 LD with experience)

exactly they are rn just on the verge of starting their rebuild

Why risk it all to get Eichel

it could work but it could also spell DISASTER

The ducks are getting a top 10 player in the world with potential to his top 5, and he's 24 on a decent contract (compared to McDavid, Marner, Matthews). I don't get why you wouldn't trade for him even if it's 3, Zegras + ... He puts you in contention for a long time your getting Getzlafs replacement and so much more.

I do see better fits though.

Apparently talks between Kaprizov and Minny went cold. kaprizov is apparently in Russia now and some russian clubs are interested in signing him

pro 5d chess move to avoid the ""sophomore slump"" media overreaction

no but seriously feeling a bit heartstricken after checking my sources, the nhl needs more players like him. was even entertaining following the wild starting next season w/ him as a major factor

Hmmmmm I wonder

Dubas and Russian players seem to be of interest and thanks to his actions with Mikheyev, he has gotten into Dan Milstein's (KHL player agent who represents the majority of russian players) good side.

could a trade be worked out?

nah but then again maybe

So friedman thinks theres a potential for Hyman to return to Toronto

the issue is term

as of now leafs are almost willing to give him around 5 mill but they dont want to give him to much term unless he takes less.

from CJ he reportedly wants around 6 mill x 6years so 36mill

honestly I have sneaking suspicion hes gonna stay for less but the term is gonna be a killer for us

rn my prediction if he does sign back in toronto

4.75 x 8 years (38mill). front heavy contract with big signing bonuses upfront

pls dont let me be right lul

If they could somehow get one of their big contracts to Waive their NMC (Parise or Zucarello)

they could go with

Zuc or Par + Rossi + both 2021 1sts + Addison or something along those lines

He's in Russia for a friends wedding IIRC. Could be a lot of editorializing on this.

He's the one guy Minnesota should move mountains to keep. Would be a massive failure if they didn't sign him.

Am I insane to believe Torts would be a good one or two season fit in Arizona? They don't have a lot of skills, they work hard and they have a good defensive structure, three things that Torts has success with.

If they could get players that would fit his style such as the likes of Janmark, Goodrow, Glendening, Coleman or Armia he thrive there, plus the division is a trainwreck... Idk, I just had this thought a few hours ago...

Over obviously...

He’ll hopefully get signed by Vancouver.

With Roussel, Beagle, and Eriksson on their way out in the next couple years, Vancouver is desperate for some overpaid veterans to play 5 games a year. Blake Comeau 8x8 incoming

I heard this too. Can't imagine he leaves the NHL after just one year. You never know though...

Who do you think Eichel gets traded to? I've heard LA, Anaheim, Columbus, Ottawa, NYR, and Minnesota are the frontrunners atm.
