2 years, 1.5 Million AAV
Travis Dermott
Toronto Maple Leafs

This is either a great contract for the leafs or a great contract for Seattle

I personally wouldn't if I were the leafs, but who knows. I hope your profile pic is temporary.

This should be a very interesting offseason. Tarasenko, Kuznetsov, Eichel, Jones, Keith, OEL, Garland, and many more expected to be moved.

Based on these comments unless MTL forks over cash and term Danault is gone.

He already rejected 5x6yrs in MTL so how much is he getting.

ACGM is a cesspool so I'm going to share my Bertuzzi opinions here:

1. Detroit fans are expecting way too much for him. Even a not-Toronto trade, he's not getting what Mantha got. He's a damn good winger and a been a bright spot for a lackluster Wings era but he's coming off a major back surgery. A 126 point / 208 game statline at 26 doesn't exactly put him in all-star company.
a) I think the Kapanen trade is a good comparison. 1st + B-tier prospect. Anything more and you're overpaying.
2. I'd say I'm more or less indifferent on Toronto actually acquiring him. He'd improve the forward quality of the team and could be cost controlled, but does he help Toronto with their playoff difficulties? He has a grand total of 0 NHL playoff games. If their interest is based on the scenario that Hyman is not returning, does giving up assets for him make the potential price saved on losing Hyman worth it? Personally, I think there are better options for Toronto but I wouldn't mind him on the Leafs. My opinion would depend on the acquisition and contract cost.

Actually no since the playoffs confirmed to him his worth I feel like that means he now understand that teams need 3 strong C’s to win and may be now willing to sign a deal with the habs

Honestly 2022 1st + Hallander or Amirov + Liligren if we have to go down that route

factors to note his QA is 3.5 mill so basically Kerfoot out and just replace his cap with Bertuzzi ok

honestly I have been thinking of a bold idea

you bring almost everyone back (minus thorton till half way through the season like Williams)

You trade for Garland and go with

Mikheyev-Matthews-Marner
Foligno-Tavares-Garland
Chucky-Kerfoot-Nylander
Simmonds-Brooks-Spezza

Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Sandin-Bogosian

Campbell
Freddie

but will MTL be comfortable giving him potentially over 5mill on a long term deal considering they got Suzuki, Romanov, Caufield, KK, and other guys to extend. Like yes 3 strong Cs is a must but there are some cheaper alternatives in FA. We will have to see what Bergevin decides cause the flat cap could make the decision for him.

Personally I'd prefer Hyman over bringing back Folingo.

Garland would be a decent addition; I don't want Dubas giving up too many younger players in deals though. I think Robertson, Hallander and Lijegren all have paths to the team next season and going all reactionary and signing or trading for a bunch of players would keep them in the minors.

Hyman is gonna cost over 5mill for more than 4 years. 1 year of Foligno probs cost 2-3mill. Would rather do that and then decide next year who to bring in. Basically make it where that 1st was earned in the end. I like Hyman but I dont want an anchor contract weighting us down in 2 years like Lucic (remember when he was good lul)

Garland should not be overly expensive. Based on the Kapenan trade probs 1st + a B prospect (Hallander lul) that would be pretty funny. I like him for his playstyle, combines aspects of playmaking and goal scoring which is something useful for us.

We have the cap space right now and next year to do it imo, by then who knows what Montreal looks like

The buyout window is now open. Who are you hoping your team buys out?

For me as a Canes fan it's definitely Jake Gardiner.

Don’t see the Habs buying out anyone so I’ll go with my 2nd favorite team the Avs with Erik Johnson

Hopefully Nick Merkley doesn't get a QA
