actually I think its less than 14 due to overages. Still got around 13 mill to spend but with Sorokin probs getting Demko money (5mx5), Pelech potentially getting either a Rielly or Morrisey deal (5-6.25m) and Beau probs making Toffoli money (4.25) for sure more moves will need to happen. My prediction right now Komorov and maybe Varlomov and Hickey potentially either is moved or if still possibly bought out.

Maybe dump Ladd and Komarov with a 1st, 2nd, and Wilde

Now this could happen if they decide to keep Varlomov

So here's my recent thought on Seattle's potential plan

When Vegas came into the NHL they drafted lots of Dman and flipped some to other teams getting more assets

I think Seattle is gonna draft 5 goalies then flip 2 of them as right now there is an abundance of starting goalies available to be taken

My prediction as of now

Seattle takes (Allen, Kuemper, Talbot, Stalock, and Vanecek) and flips Talbot and Allen for assets

I thought about that but the hassle of resigning him could push them away. Every goalie I listed has a good contract and is sighed plus Kuemper/Vanacek would be a good duo. Stalock goes to their ahl team and becomes the #3 guy

I have a feeling Kuemper gets dealt before the trade freeze. Kuemper said he won't resign and the Coyotes might want to protect Hill over him. Kuemper to Colorado im calling it rn

There are realistically few teams who can take him and protect him (Colorado, Vegas, Edmonton, Buffalo, and Detroit). I don't see Buffalo or Detroit as they are rebuilding so why spend the assets to get him. Colorado I feel will go with Grubauer in the end. Vegas has to wait for MAF to be moved before they can add his 4.5mill in and do they want to do that. Edmonton could work but with the news of Smith and Hollands connections to Mrazek don't see it happening. So realistically I think they don't move him and just let Seattle have him

Who is the 5th D and 3rd forward, Nash could’ve protected Arvidsson and not sold him for cheap, Nashville is guaranteed to protect ( imo ) Forsberg, Kunin, Ellis, Josi, Ekholm, Fabbro

Now this is just silly even for a chilled leaf fan like myself. Not many people realize this is not as bad as it was before. The Ballard era was even worse than losing. It was pure utter torture. New leaf fans don't seem to realize this and often think they know pain. My dad went through that era and it was the worst, he told me the other day 5 first round exits still isn't as bad as what Ballard made this city and team go through on a daily basis for more than 10 years and literally had to die to start change (pretty sad if you think about it).

Their time will come, its only a matter of time. They got to much talent not to win a round. Matthews and Marner are still growing and learning. As Tampa, Washington, and even Pittsburgh demonstrated patience is key.

Yeah exactly. It’s sometimes just comical how much we lose lol.

The 2006-2015 was just pain. Pain.

My final thoughts on the Leddy trade from yesterday:

Detroit Red Wings
Nick Leddy

New York Islanders
Richard Panik (50% Retained)
2021 2nd Round Pick (52nd overall)

Islanders clear up cap to resign Beauvillier, Sorokin, and Pelech, while the Red Wings get a veteran defenseman in Leddy who can mentor Seider in his rookie season. I definitely see how this trade benefits both sides, but there is just more value in what the Islanders are receiving.

If that's what they're doing then I'd guess:

Forsberg - Jarnkrok - Kunin
Josi - Ellis - Ekholm - Fabbro - Carrier

I thought they'd learn from their past mistakes. Especially CBJ
