I’m assuming that means Foote is protected. Also it would be hilarious if with all those good, expensive players available, Seattle screwed over the Bolts and just picked Barré-Boulet.

Yeah, I thought they would too. Now they could lose McCann for nothing. I'm hoping for Toronto that Seattle takes Kerfoot.

Seattle now has a dilemna, help Tampa’s cap situation or pick a worse player unless there’s a side deal.

Also interesting Leafs, i guess trading for McCann was cheaper than trading with Seattle and now either you traded for McCann to keep him or to not lose Kerfoot. I guess that works

Well I’m not sure that picking Barré-Boulet is that much worse than the other options. Depends if you’re able to flip a Gourde or McDonagh for more though I guess.

Toronto could side deal for ensuring Kerfoot is take for example;

Hallander + 7th but the

Kerfoot attached with like a 4th let’s say to pick Kerfoot over McCann.

Not like their asking for Seattle to take a cap dump. Kerfoot would be a serviceable middle 6 guys for them immediately.

It’d really be:

Hallander Kerfoot 4th 7th

McDonagh may be protected, Hedman, Sergachev, Cernak should be locks but they may protect McDonagh over Foote, we’ll see

This is what I think Dubas was thinking

One of Kerfoot or McCann will be picked. Whoever they don't pick will be 3C.

If McCann gets picked, the Leafs basically paid Hallander and a 7th to protect Kerfoot
