If Dallas gets to keep both Dobby and Bishop, which teams would be interested for either one of them?

I would’ve said Chicago for Ben Bishop if Bishop can stop getting injured

If Landeskog does not sign with the avs I can see him signing with the isles. Lou would probably offer over 8 mill.

Protecting Brady Skjei ahead of Jake Bean is beyond stupid. Lou’s strategy of exposing Eberle and Bailey is… interesting.

Thank goodness we won’t be losing Martin or Clutterbuck in the expansion draft I was worried we were gonna leave them unprotected

Price hasn’t been a good regular season goalie for some time and no team will trade for his contract unless retention

For sure you may be right.
BUT
SEA will more than likely have ample room to retain & having a 'star' will do wonders for the franchise at the gate/CP merch/concession-$30 beers etc etc...

Johansen is a 3-4mil guy on a 8m contract with term.
Duchene is in the same boat.

Nashville got it right; I woulda done Jarnkrok over Jeannot but not a massive deal

Soooooo

If we lose McCann it is what it is, we still have kerfoot, one of the two will be our 3C. I’d prefer to lose kerfoot tho….

I can’t say I’m surprised. I was actually texting a friend last night about who the leafs will protect and sent them this EXACT protection list saying “I think this is what Dubas is gonna do”

Sus detected……….

While it is true, we have cap space from trading kapanen, and we can keep kerfoot/dermott/holl, instead of having to pay Seattle whatever their price was. The McCann trade was most likely cheaper than whatever Seattle was asking to guarantee their pick…..

I like Jack Hughes but stupid drafting logic. Luke Hughes is not near the BPA or d selection at 4 imo. I understand the selection and it’s not bad but not the correct selection.

The only players I would consider taking over Hughes are Power, Clarke, and Eklund. Power is going top 3. Eklund probably is too. It's between Hughes and Clarke for me

For me it’s Clarke 9.9/10. Hughes and Evindsson (who’s already likely to fall) are gonna drop for me, probably not in reality tho. If that happens. I see the best picks as:

BUF Power/ Beniers
SEA Beniers/ Power
ANA Eklund (good pick for ANA or Guenther)
NJD Clarke (BPA and a D) (even over Eklund)
CBJ Eklund or Guenther
DET Wallstedt

With Hughes/ Evindsson possibly going to CBJ instead but that’s how I’d round how those top talents

And we could see:

BUF Eklund
SEA Power
ANA Beniers
NJD Hughes
CBJ Clarke
DET Wallstedt
SJS Guenther

That would be really fun (for SJS especially lol), but that’s likely to happen with NJD going Hughes

So I saw the leafs went 4-4-1 and went wtf then I realized something big

2 former leafs coaches are behind Seattles bench. Dubas either made a deal with Seattle to take Hymans rights or he knows in advance who they want (Kerfoot).

Haxsol being the Kraken gm is huge for us as Francis will probs go ask him who on the leafs did you like the best and chose that guy

So as of now my prediction is Seattle takes Kerfoot or Hymans Rights

It's either him or Clarke, and tbh they're pretty even. Then they just take Hughes since I see both of them as equals, but Jack wants to play with his brother. Graeme probably does too, but in this case I'd just give the star player what he wants. They're both great picks, though.

The Leafs choosing Holl definitely is one of the bigger blunders today.

Bean could be the biggest followed by Kahkonen and Nino imo.

here is the thing. Holl is good in the right situations, is a puck moving Dman who can provide offense and defense and is on a good deal. He blocks shots, hits, and can provide points here and there kind of like Mayfield. We also got to account for the fact top 4 RD dont come cheap especially ones who play 20mins a night.

Dubas would not trade for McCann unless there was a plan in advance. Knowing the fact 2 former leafs coaches are with Seattle got to think they will advise Francis to choose someone they are familiar with. That person/s is probs Kerfoot or Hyman

I was thinking about this the other day. Pacific division sucks. Badly. Seattle is probably a playoff team.

Anything can happen after Vegas. 2nd is probably Edmonton. Calgary, LA, Seattle fight for the remaining spot and possible wildcard.

So I guess Jared McCann is going to be a Maple Leaf for 4 days. Toronto essentially traded Hallander and a 7th to keep Kerfoot. And I guess it’s better than Seattle’s prices, so it’s a decent move.

see this is where its wrong. Who is Seattle's head coach. Hakstol, where did he used to coach, Toronto. Francis probs went to him and said who on the leafs were you most impressed with or would like with the Kraken. His answer probs is Kerfoot as during the series against the Habs he really stepped up. Got to think there is a side deal in place.

Cause think about it if Chucky-Kerfoot-Nylander did well, Seattle may try to replicate that putting kerfoot between 2 good wings.

no, you clearly didnt read. Who is the head coach of the Kraken, Hakstol, who was behind the leafs bench till a month ago Hakstol. Hakstol knows every player on that team and from the way Kerfoot stepped up in the playoffs in place of JT he is the most logical choice for Francis per Hakstol's recommendation. A coaches familiarity with players is vital and so Kerfoot is most likely the guy going. If not probs gonna be Hymans rights
