Many GM’s were drunk, apparently many teams had Mailloux still on their draft board, MB was just the one who had him highest

Multiple NHL teams had indicated they might pick Logan Mailloux in the 2nd round of the 2021 Draft despite his renouncing himself from being selected, source tells ESPN. Given that @CanadiensMTL didn't pick again to No. 63, imagine that's why they took him at No. 31.

Any update on the Sharks trade situation with an Eastern team (possibly the Devils)?

My Seattle thoughts (sorry I'm late):

My first thought was, this sucks! There's nobody good except Eberle and Gio. They passed on Price and Tarasenko. What were they thinking!

The more I think about it, though, the more I like it. There's a whole team of young players with William Karlsson/Shea Theodore potential.
I still don't really love the picks but it's not terrible.

In conclusion, this team has a lot of potential but isn't a sure thing at all. They won't be as good as Vegas.

There’s no updates that I can find through the 3 Sharks guys and Weekes (or any Meier info). Maybe the deal(s) fell through who knows

I just woke up to 31 notifications-

Simon Robertsson is a good one too. Daniil Chayka, Olen Zellweger, Scott Morrow, and Sean Behrens aren't bad ones either. Stankoven is a good dark horse pick since he's undersized. I'm happy that we have 4 2nd Round picks today cause we can capitalize on all of the other teams 1st round mistakes. We're guaranteed to get some talent here.

Just gonna throw a name out there that I've got my eye on for the Leafs today: James Malatesta. Probably a reach at 57 (though not a huge one, imo), but day 2's are usually pretty unpredictable and will probably be more so this year. Would be jacked if the Leafs could pick him up at 153.

I think the Canes are gonna clean up today.

I think he's more of a late round pick, but like you said there are a lot of surprises. I do agree that he would be a great fit for the leafs though. An underdog I'm looking at for the Canes is Colton Dach (Kirby's brother), maybe with one of our 3rd round picks or our last 2nd.
