Also Perry can’t replace Goodrow, since he’s pretty much the exact opposite type of player. Perry is all offense at this point in his career, so his value comes from his goal-scoring and playmaking. (His shot isn’t good, but he’s great at deking, so that’s how he scores) He hits like an average player, and there’s not really any defensive game to speak of.

Why tf would you not want a veteran guy for your 4th line, former stanley cup champ/hart winner, good teammate/motivator who is antagonistic and obnoxious to play against, and scores clutch goals in the playoffs? Bolts fans really spoiled by having tyjo on their 4th line lmao, Perry can play on whichever 4RW he chooses, including Tampa’s. Especially considering their 4 best bottom six players just got shipped out the door.

Because I hate players who are antagonistic and obnoxious to play against. Simple. @Kotkaniemi15 says he's cleaned up his act with the Habs, hopefully that's true. See, the Corey Perry I think of is this one (@0:47):

Maroon-Bellemare-Perry vs. Armia-Staal-Perry, his linemates aren't going to be as offensively gifted on tampa

Do you not realize that antagonistic and obnoxious to play against perfectly describes Maroon, Coleman, Goodrow, etc. as well lmao

I really don’t think he’s even obnoxious to play against anymore. He’s just really good offensively. He’s probably on par with Jesperi Kotkaniemi in terms of how he plays defensively. (Except KK is way faster)

We can give you Blake Comeau for him if you don't want him. Blake is a fantastic defensive guy and he can use the body.

Not at all, what in the world? Don't even compare them. (I will admit it did use to perfectly describe Kucherov, but he's cleaned up since)

Well Staal was just a passenger on that line, but yeah Maroon isn’t as good as Armia.

Also,

Perry
Stamkos - Point - Kucherov
Hedman

Is the best powerplay the world has ever seen. Even better than any Olympic roster ever.

Got a fun idea for the toronto_maple_leafs.svgsan_jose_sharks.svg

Leafs want a top 6 add..

A lot of opinion on Labanc but one thing I can state is he is worth his cap analytically (His 5 on 5 stats rank him around 5m dollars for example) - and he had bad luck according to analytics the year before. He is a top 6 winger whos shown upside. His points may not be high but he was quite good this year overall (and you know he'll rack points up with the Leafs, as he plays PP and top 6 minutes).

Labanc
Gambrell (50% ret.)

for

Kerfoot
Amirov
Pick (I'd say 2022 2nd but I acknowledge that's a high price as I really like Amirov too, prob a 3rd or something with conditions maybe?)

Gambrell takes 3C, at 550k cap hit. Labanc basically eats a tad more of the Kerfoot cap move but it still allows cap flexibility for the Leafs while both getting a top 6 winger and still having a 3C. I think Labanc fits perfectly with Tavares and Nylander (but would do well with the AM, MM).

Perry is basically Maroon except you lose a few hits and gain a few goals. They’re both massive chirpers who aren’t afraid to get it in your face, and who nobody wants to get matched up against.

Pat isn't as much of a chirper as Perry; also when he does it, he's kind of laughing the entire time.
@CoopsTroops Someone should notify Corey Perry that his biggest fan base is here on CF, except for us smile

That would be one heck of a unit, but Killorn is the net-front presence already, so he'll probably stay there, Perry will replace Gourde as the winger on the second unit.

IMO, Joe Pavelski is the only player in the entire league who is a better net-front guy than Perry on the PP. He’s a wizard down low.

The further away you get from the net, the less effective he is though, because of his slow skating and the fact that he doesn’t have an amazing shot.

Other than the day they first signed him, I have not seen any habs fan say one bad thing about Corey Perry.

WOAH. Great signing. Perfectly replaces Jaden Schwartz, he and Buchnevich should get some offense going in St. Louis along with O'Reilly/Schenn/Tarasenko (assuming he's not traded)

FML, Perry’s gone, now will the Maroon luck continue, or the Perry curse

On a real note, Perry will do good in Tampa, his style of play fits perfectly

Also, Saad to STL, pretty good Schwartz replacement, good deal

F*ck the Blues, they're looking good so far in this offseason compared to whatever we have going. The two wildcards will go to central teams no question.
