I think this offseason will be disappointing for Toronto if Rielly doesn't sign for a decent contract or get traded. Don't think it'd be smart to give him anything above 7 million.

Sabres "don't feel any pressure" to trade Eichel, GM says ; "I think what's critically important to make sure is clear is that we're in control of this process"

Poor, poor Jack Eichel

I mean it sounds like he’s gonna give him away lol. Wasn’t that part of the reason the Stars were in on Jones? Because they see Klingberg as expendable? He’s only got 1 year until UFA, and they may want to avoid what the market would offer for him (namely, all the money, talented RHD make mad bank), meaning he could get dealt soon if they can’t reach a deal to keep him around.

This is all well and good to pretend they aren’t in any rush, until he doesn’t show up for training camp and the price bottoms out lmao

Just watched a Waddell interview and a reporter asked him what he's going to do with all of our cap space. He said, "There are some free agents still left that we are talking to right now, but we also know that there are some teams that are looking to move some money out, and we may be in a good position to make our hockey club better through a trade. Didn't expect we'd have this much cap space on July 29th, but it obviously gives us plenty of space to improve the team with either a short term or a long term deal with Andrei, and we'll continue to look at who we can spend the cap on with the right purpose because, you know, it will go by quickly. We're going to keep our options open right now."

Interesting to say the least. I sense a sizeable move coming over the next few days.

The Jones to Dallas was all speculation because that’s Jones’s hometown and he said he wanted to extend there. The Klingberg is expendable is complete bs, it was only people trying to stir the pot, the whole Jones-Klingberg was just a grab for attention and wasn’t true at all. Nill talked very highly of Klingberg, and by that tweet he’ll probably sign him.

Well that would be the right decision at least. Unless they give him north of 9mil lol

Red Wings fans never cease to amaze me. Today I learned that it would cost Drouin + Poehling + Primeau + a 2022 1st for Leddy $1.5M retained.

At most he should get 8x6. If not Nill is going to make a big mistake.

I mean he really has no grounds to ask for more than what Krug got and even if he gets more it should be 25k at most

That 20 goal season was 3 years ago and ever since then he just has not lived up to expectations. Should have dominated the north with the likes of Nurse and Petry but he was his production was meh.

He can either take a Krug or Morrisey deal or Dubas deals him and Dubas did say that would happen if they cant agree on one. Got to wait for August to see but as Lebrun said Rielly wants to stay and is willing to take a discount on the next deal.

My guess rn is between 6.25-6.75x8yrs

You should see how much they want for Bertuzzi who by the way is coming off back surgery

Like 2022 or 2023 1st + Amirov + Sandin + Robertson + basically every prospect we own

lul not happening

I think he can get 8 million easily. He's one of the better left side defenders in the league and isn't as much of a powerplay specialist as Krug is.

Think I'm leaning towards moving him, to be honest. Muzzin-Dermott-Sandin is a bit risky but can be capable.

Lol you made me laugh, but that's not the guy I'm referring to. I was talking about the "no need for dermott, keep your garbage", "add in Beniers and maybe we'll consider Bertuzzi to Seattle", "wings pass, not even close"

In open market yes there could be a team dumb enough to pay him that. But from what I have heard per Lebrun he wants to stay in Toronto and is willing to take less than what people expect on his next deal.

With the way he has played the last 2 seasons 8mill might be a bit rich for him. I say at most 7 but even that could be to high for him based on recent statistics. RN the contracts I see current Rielly making on his extension is between 6.25-6.75 now if he goes god more and does what he did 3 years ago. Easily can command upwards of 9mill

But as of now 6.75 mill x 6-8 years is the most I would consider as I cant look at Rielly's current play and go give him a Hedman deal. Now if he wants that kind of money Dubas should get on the phone with whoever and move him as with the Dman market now being a bit thin someone will big for Rielly especially if there is extension talks involved

Wonder if Anaheim would trade Fowler to push harder to land Wright lul

Question for everyone: Where do you think the Devils finish in the Metro next year?

My guess is 7th

No question above CBJ, but after that all of the other teams are pretty good. I’m guessing 7th, but they could surprise and maybe make it at 5th.
