Kind of off.topic but if anyone is bored try out HLM21! There is a new one coming out HLM22 soon so don't buy the premium on 21 and wait for 22. HLM22 is gonna be pretty cool it looks like it's a fun Armchair GM style game that is pretty fun. They don't have name rights so you need community rosters(premium needed for these) but it's very fun! You can go back to 1920 and start add teams etc. Check it out!

Most overrated team in each division:

CEN: Winnipeg - Canadian media overhypes them every year

PAC: Vegas - they’re very, very okay, and everyone thinks they’re the best after the first season.

ATL: Toronto - EVERYBODY overhypes this team, they’re a good team, not great. Top 10, but definitely not as good as they’re made up to be

MET: Philadelphia - Same as Toronto, not a bad team but they’re not as good as everyone thinks they are

Vegas has been to the conference finals in 3 of their 4 NHL seasons. No one is trying to pump them up by saying they’re good. They are good. But I guess you’re just salty because in 4 seasons they have as many playoff series wins as the Leafs do since 1994.

True , but I feel like everyone I talk to says they’re phenomenal and when I watched them play against the habs they didn’t seem anything great

Maybe a bit salty lol wink

I can't fathom the fact that the all star of this summer, Frank Seravalli, is younger than Sidney Crosby, considering how...well...grey he is going lmao.

I did a double take when I saw his age. "33???!!! No, that's got to be a mistake. I mean, look at him!" (And make this even scarier: He is ONE YEAR OLDER than Cam Atkinson. Now look at Atkinson.)

Atkinson is 17 and getting drafted next year, nothing you say can convince me otherwise

Hey does the buyout calculator work? How did Tampa sign Raddysh to 758k when his QO is 850k? Boris' QO is also 850k but are they somehow moving around this or is it the players' option to take a lower offer?

Tampa's dealing with their juniors so good. Signing ABB and Raddysh to 3 YEAR DEALS with near league minimum contracts is a massive DUB.

They have to offer QO money to keep his rights but the player doesn't have to sign that. I suppose Brisebois offered him a handshake deal that if he agrees to go cheap long-term he's getting a chance in NHL at some point.

The QO would probably be a 2-way deal, I bet his contract now isn’t. When a player is offered a QA it only means that’s a minimum in arbitration. Also buyout calculator, idk, I don’t understand how buyouts work but CF does

Buyout calculator works by you picking the year and then it calculates how much AAV against the cap and actual money is owed per season (in theory it’s 2/3 of the remaining total money paid out over twice the remaining term, but front- or back-loaded deals and signing bonuses mess with the cap hits resulting in stuff like the Minnesota situation).

They signed below their QO to get term and guaranteed money. Take ABB for example. His QO I believe was a hair under $800k, but it would have been a 1-year, 2-way deal with him making significantly less in the minors. The deal he signed is 2-way for the first year ($750k NHL, $200k AHL) and then 1-way the final two years ($750k in year 2 at both levels, $775k in year 3 at both levels). So the advantage for the player is he is guaranteed at least $1.725mil over the next three years, and there’s a decent incentive for the team to keep him in the NHL in years 2 and 3 if they’re paying him all that money anyway. The advantage for the team is they have cost certainty for what they see as a promising depth player for the next few seasons, and because they are willing to give out a bit of guaranteed money, they get to keep the cap hit extremely low in return (which is more important for a strong financially, but cap-strapped team like the Lightning). It’s very similar to the Joey Anderson situation signed last year if you didn’t understand this description and want to know more (I’m sure that was covered extensively because it was the Leafs and all). And yes it’s the player’s option to take this instead of the QO but like I said, it works better for both sides in situations like this.

Minor correction, ABB has a guaranteed $250k in year 1 as well, so he’s actually guaranteed $1.775mil total. And Raddysh’s is very similar, but with $100k AHL salary in year 1 with $125k guaranteed ($1.65mil total guaranteed).

Most underrated team in each division in my opinion

Metro: Philly
Atlantic: Florida
Central: Winnipeg
Pacific: LA

The Jets were by far the most under hyped team in the league this pass season

Terrific job by JBB locking up ABB and T. Raddysh for 3 years for next to nothing. Terrific signings.
