Dermott is a 7th defencemen on any other team

Mikheyev is an AHL player on any other team

Thank you for showing how have no idea who Ilya Mikheyev is. I really don't see how he can possibly be considered ahl (for that matter, the same goes for Dermott).

Engvall is kind of garbage at this point, he’s been misused by the Leafs but I agree with the rest

Engvall's an ok 4th liner, but defiantly not worth 1.25.

Enjoy having negative cap space

No one wants any of your useless garbage

By useless garbage I mean Engvall, Mikheyev, Dermott etc.

Enjoy paying 9.5 million for a mediocre defenseman.

So the thing about Engvall is that this year they can bury his full salary in the AHL. So his contract doesn’t really negatively affect the Leafs unless he’s in the NHL.

Edit: His buried cap hit is actually $125K. So nearly nothing still though.

Also Toronto’s cap maneuvering will be a lot easier this year, since they’re finally no longer operating on LTIR and can accrue cap space. So they don’t need to be cap compliant every single day anymore.

Apparently, the Rangers latest offer was Kravtsov, Jones, Georgiev and a 1st

Kravtsov = Kotkaniemi
Jones = Harris
Georgiev = Lehkonen
NYR 1st = MTL 1st

Can Buffalo just trade Eichel so the kid can get his damn neck surgery. Cant imagine the difficulties of not being able to fix a health issue because you’re “not allowed” to.

Are they actually legally able to prevent him from getting surgery? Because I don’t see why he can’t just get it now, and whatever team he’s on in the fall has to deal with it.

What kind of repercussions do you think there could be for Eichel if he just went and got the surgery? Like I'm sure it gives the Sabres grounds to terminate his contract, but that does more harm to the Sabres than Eichel. Wonder what other type of action he could face if he just said 'screw it'.

Rangers: "Free Eichel? Don't mind if I do. Here, could you take a cut? Like 18.5 you can have. Ok?"

He was asked about that in an interview and he did say that since he's under contract with the Sabres that they get a certain amount of control over medical decisions, but I'm curious about consequences of breaching that agreement.

It would likely terminate his contract and he could get fined. I’m not 100% knowledgeable but if remember correctly;

A player CANNOT do things contractually otherwise it voids their contract. So for example if a player gets injured due to a motorbike accident: firstly the player I think has to consult the team before going motor biking and secondly it can cause legal issues since most contracts have guidelines for players of what they can and can’t do.

I would assume the same follows for medicals. You cannot just go get an invasive surgery otherwise it voids your contract. Sure you could go get a massage somewhere, but going to a unapproved chiropractor or a surgeon would likely void your contract as you’re beaching the agreement. I would heavily assume it could result in a major fine or contractual termination (where he loses all the money owed to him).

Both his surgery and the Sabres own surgery both come with pros and cons… it’s gonna be interesting because he can only get 1 surgery and we don’t know what’s gonna work or not work.

Very Similar to the McDavid situation:

McDavid and his camp were told by 3 doctors he needed surgery. And that his career was at a risk. Both team and camp were aware.

Mcdavid and his camp were contacted by 1 doctor/ physician/ someone and did rehab instead and the Oilers approved it and worked with everyone and as we see it worked wonderfully and Mcdavid was the first guy to fix that injury through rehab.

Sabres have a chance at first in 2022 and 2023 which is great and they can't drop out of the top 3 if they end up in the bottom in 2022...

So say the sabres got 1-1 or 2-1 or 1-2 they will be set for a long time.

McDavid - Wright
Eichel - Lambert
Stroke - Savoie (hopefully he will be what they expected strome 2 be)

Bedard - Matthews
Michkov - Laine (the one we saw everyonce in a while that we wondered would be the next Ovi).

This is how I view the players coming in, obviously I don't hope Savoie turns out to be like Strome I'd hope he would become Barzal, or Aho... Same with Michkov I'd hope he could be one what we thought Laine could be after his rookie year.

Imagine this sabres line up

Ollofson - Wright - Michkov
Skinner (JJ Peterka) - Cozens - Quinn
Roustallainen - Mitts - Thompson/Krastzov(Eichel trade)
Routsalainen- Asplund- Rosen

Dahlin - Jokiharju
Power - Lundkvist (Eichel trade)
Sammuellson - Johnson
Butcher/Hagg

UPL
Levi

Sabres still have Piluts rights and he is a stud as well!

Yea... My bad.... Fill it in with he new names I added. JJ Paterka I forgot about, and a winger or something from a Eichel trade. Also some people might make a jump that's ok our prospect pool.

So Buffalo has to trade Eichel right? Incoming 1st + prospect for Eichel, there’s no way the Sabres can win a Eichel trade at this point

IDEK ANYMORE

like this situation is getting Lindros or Lemieux bad. His agents have made it clear he needs to be moved but Adams be content to keep him and let the value tank.

Its getting to the point of no return where Bettman may step in

I think we’re at a point where Sabres can’t win an Eichel trade and if he doesn’t get traded, probably gets terminated for something
