Some trades that almost happened:

At the 2015 draft, STL almost acquired Tomas Hertl and the 9th overall pick from SJS for T.J. Oshie and Kevin Shattenkirk. The trade aborted when SJS wanted Meier who was still on board.

In 2016, the EDM were planning to trade Taylor Hall 1-for-1 for Cody Ceci. They opted for Adam Larsson instead.

At the end of the 2006-07 season, DET were considering trading Pavel Datsyuk for Scott Gomez and other pieces, but they chose to keep and extend him.

Before the 2009 draft, VAN offered the 22nd overall pick, Alexandre Burrows and Kevin Bieksa to Tampa for the 2nd overall pick with the intention of selecting Victor Hedman.

People think the Larson trade was bad… and Larsson has still been a good Defenseman, meanwhile, look at the deal Edmonton just gave Ceci…. They were really gonna do it lmao

Well Larsson definitely wasn’t very good before - but the last couple season; specifically last year he was quite great. And that helped his new team get him on a great deal

If Dallas can get a top 6 scoring winger, are they cup contenders? I think so, they’re almost there they just need a little bit more on offence and a bounce back year from either Holtby or Bishop come playoff time (if Bishop is healthy), and I think they can give teams a run for their money.

Depends on how much he’d want. The most we could give him is 3.5-4 million, we can’t go over that.

Well I mean Dallas has dealt with problematic players before like Seguin, but if it’s that bad I can’t see Nill breaking his locker room chemistry. Worst case scenario we send Comeau to whack some sense into him. At a reasonable price he wouldn’t be a bad addition depending on his situation.

After 2017 Pittsburgh goaltending was average. A change was needed and now we got it. Jarry's numbers along with desmiths should get better
