How much do you guys think Olofsson would cost?

Whatever Reinhart went for as that was pure utter robbery by Florida\

So 1st + Prospect (B level)

Florida fans were not happy their tandem was on this list

Have they not seen Bob these last 2 seasons and your gonna partner him with a 20 year old who has only been in 6 NHL games. Plus expect him to be the starter and believe this tandem is top 5 in the league.

In their defense, Bobrovsky was much better this season, still a LONG way off from his former self, but definitely a solid starter for much of the year. They're not one of the 4 worst tandems in the league, and to even compare them to OTT, ARI, and BUF is laughable.

I don't think Crawford or Weber will get their numbers retired. They were legends in Chicago and Nashville, no doubt, but in Crawford's case, it takes another level to get your number retired (he was good, not number-retirement worthy), while in Weber's, when you're traded away at age 30, it's hard to make the case to the team that they should retire your number, no matter how good you were (same reason why the Penguins will not retire Fleury's #29, IMO)

If Weber played for an original 6 team maybe I’d be slightly more inclined to agree with you, but he was the best player in team history until Josi broke out, and was their captain for 6 years. (He scored 15+ goals in all 8 full seasons he played for Nashville, and scored 20+ goals 3 times) If they aren’t going to retire Weber’s number in Nashville, then they would likely never retire anyone’s number.

For Crawford you might have a point. He deserves it, but the older teams can be dumb.

And Fleury obviously wouldn’t get his number retired in Pittsburgh, because he wasn’t even good in Pittsburgh. He was at best a middle of the pack starter, and only won 1 cup as a starter in which he had a lower save percentage than Antti Niemi did in the playoffs for the next year’s cup champion. (.908 vs. .910)

And I also forgot to include Pekka Rinne as one of the players who are definitely getting their numbers retired.

I know the Reinhart one was a steal, but I don’t think Olofsson would get that package because he’s worst than Reinhart and by a fair amount. (Comparing trades these days are useless because Risto got more than Buch).

Gurianov had an on par season with him and Gurianov was playing 4th line minutes and he has more potential, and I doubt Dallas could get anywhere near that. The best I’d think Gurianov could get is a late 1st so Olofsson should cost a little less then that. (Maybe 2nd and a prospect who was drafted in the 3rd round).

100%. Weber won't, whereas Rinne's #35 is unquestionably being raised to the rafters at Bridgestone. But Fleury was very good in Pittsburgh-he had 5 straight years of a GAA less than 2.40, the 2009 Stanley Cup was in only his 3rd year.

Nah you’re out of your mind, the trade market for young wingers has been set by Reinhart and Buchnevich, and Olofsson is not as good as either of them. Buffalo would be lucky to get a 2nd for him retained imo

Can you give me your reasoning why Weber won’t, because I have no idea what puts Rinne way ahead of Weber in your mind.

You’re seriously talking about GAA for a goalie on a perennial contender? He also had a single 3rd place Vezina vote in 13 years with the organization. If that doesn’t scream middle of the pack starter I don’t know what does.

No he’ll go to Buffalo. There’s nothing about his character that suggests he’s stuffy and will refuse to play in Buffalo. Him and Cozens will form a solid leadership core there, until they get dealt for more futures in 2027 when Buffalo enters their 7th consecutive rebuild.

No, he wouldn’t want that reputation and he’d make more money by being an NHLer, plus he’d only become an FA when his rights expire which would take like 5 years

I don't think he will

He said he "wanted" to get drafted by Buffalo before the draft

Sure. For Weber, I don't think you get your number retired when you get traded away from the team when you're 30 years old. His records will soon be broken by Josi. He may have the been first elite player in team history, but got traded away in his prime. Rinne played his entire career for Nashville, and holds literally every single record for goalies-Wins, GAA, Sv %, Shutouts-in franchise history. He was the face of the franchise. If he doesn't get his number retired, nobody will.
As for Fleury, look up his stats. He had a shaky start, but after that was rock-solid for 7 years. The reason why he never got Vezina votes is because his stats were never elite, even if they were consistently something like 918%, 2.35 GAA (very good, but not award worthy).
