Hawks Land 1 Overall

Created by: DarthKane
Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 6, 2021
Published: Jun. 6, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know there’s a less than 1% chance Buffalo moves the #1 overall pick, but if there was a year the team makes this trade it’s this year. Plus, Buffalo needs players to help them win now. This is purely for fun.

very bad for the hawks. Very very bad. I wouldn't trade Dach for the #1 pick alone. If the question is Dach or Power I pick Dach easily. And Reinhart isn't worth Kubalik+Boqvist+11th+2nd. His value isn't even in that universe. I get that this was made just for fun but value wise it's so bad for the hawks

Chicago's future is probably better off without that pick just based on how much you're giving up

Oh no. On no no no no no.
Even if you just look at the deal as
Reinhart
Power

For
Boqvist
Kubalik
Dach
Pick 11
It’s still garbage
Genuinely one of the worst overpays I’ve seen/over evaluation of how good Owen Power is

Good question. I like Sanderson though Power just played for Canada at Worlds on the top line. If a gun was at my head I would go Sanderson though Power's size is very enviable and he is mobile and can skate. Both haven't played NHL so very tough to say at this stage.

I agree , I’d take Sanderson rn only cuz he’s way better defensively and extremely mobile but it’s very close

I would say Power. But it’s not by that much. Both players were over drafted assuming power goes 1.

I think if Sanderson showed a bit more offence, he would’ve been higher. His skating and defence are elite.

Chicago is better off taking the best player available at 11.

Maybe Wallstedt....

Chicago loses half their future there.

I wouldn’t make that deal either, but if Chicago (or any team) wants the #1 overall pick that’s what it will take. I’d love for Stan to find a way to land Reinhart though.

At #11, I’m hoping McTavish is available but I think it’s unlikely. Raty or Sillinger will be the likely options.

As much as I’d love to take the number 1 overall, this won’t work

I have a strong feeling McTavish will go to Ottawa. Local kid, great player. Seems like a storybook ending to his junior career.

I really think if Wallstedt is available though, Chicago should jump on him. He’s supposedly the best of the 3 first round goalies in these past years and I can’t see Lankinen being the goalie of the future in Chicago to be fully honest.

As a Sabre fan I love it - But maybe just Reinhart + 1OA + 2021 2nd Bos for Dach, Kubalik, Teplý, 2021 1st round pick (CHI) 11OA - on the other hand I'm happy staying at 1OA I wasn't sure about Owen Power but his game improves a little bit every time I watch him - from what I've read he has a strong work ethic which makes him an unlikely bust - comparisons to Hedman are a little crazy but if he's anywhere close that's a huge win.
