Offseason

Created by: Fixitf
Team: 2021-22 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 7, 2021
Published: Jun. 7, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The goal of this team is to get bigger, have a dependable 2cnd defensive pair, and to make a line that would make Zucker the play driver/main puck carrier. In my opinion that is why he isn’t producing, he is a puck possessing forward who has only been used as a complementary piece to Sid or Geno, so getting his own line may get him producing and make us a more well rounded team.

Puljujarvi was offered to you for Rust about a year ago and the answer was no, well now it’s our turn to say not a chance

Devils accept but I think Penguins would want Wood over Bastian

Rob Rossi claims that the pieces being shopped currently are Guentzel, Rust, And Marino. I don’t disagree with moving them, but I am a little worried about who we get in return.

I believe that it would have to be after, because as far as I know there are no opportunities to trade before the expansion draft.

My guess is that they select McCann from this roster, and the pens go after a free agent like Danault to fill the hole.

Was fulling expecting another Wood-for-Pettersson offer.
This is far more interesting.

Reilly Walsh would be pleased to get his old line-mate on board.

Wow, you managed to make us worse while getting rid of almost every young piece we have. Rob Rossi knows nothing and he said those would be the only players of value we could shop. Hextall isn’t dumb enough to trade any of them. They’ll most likely make very little moves.

I agree that they most likely won’t make many moves or trade those players, but every move other than the Giordano trade the team gets younger. Bastian will be a great middle/top 6 talent in the future for the pens, Laine is younger than Guentzel and bigger as well which fill fit the mold of what Hextall will try to build this team into, and Puljarvi should be a player that fits the future of this team as well. This acgm was done to change around the supporting pieces in order to extend the competitive window of this team and allow for an easier rebuild in the future.

I really like Bastian, but if we move Marino it better be for a lot more than him.

Marino is the future of the blue line. You don’t move him for a pick and a hitting bottom 6 forward. You don’t move Guentzel for a big baby in Laine who we all know Sullivan would hate. I don’t even think the Edmonton trade is good. Rust is too solid here, same with Carter. Just traded for a bunch of players that 100% don’t fit the mold here. Need to go after guys like Miles Wood or Brandon Saad or Blake Coleman. No need to rip the team apart like this.
